Who Our Furniture Removals Service Is For
Homeowners
Moving between houses in or out of West Hampstead? We carefully move everything from beds and wardrobes to garden furniture, ensuring each piece is wrapped, protected and positioned exactly where you want it in your new home.
Renters
If you are upsizing, downsizing or changing flat, we help you move your own furniture without damage to rental properties. We pay close attention to stairwells, communal areas and walls to avoid marks that could affect deposits.
Landlords
We support landlords with furnished and part-furnished property moves, including removal, storage drop-offs, or delivery of new furniture to rental units. We can work to tight changeover times between tenancies.
Businesses
Offices, shops and studios in West Hampstead rely on us for moving desks, cabinets, display units and other commercial furniture. We can schedule out-of-hours or weekend work to minimise disruption to your trading or operations.
Students
Students moving into or out of West Hampstead accommodation benefit from a cost-effective, efficient furniture removals service. We move beds, desks, chairs and personal furniture items between halls, flats and storage.
What Our Furniture Removals Service Includes
We can move almost all common household and office furniture, including:
- Sofas, armchairs and sofa beds
- Beds, mattresses, wardrobes and chests of drawers
- Dining tables, chairs, sideboards and bookcases
- Desks, office chairs, filing cabinets and shelving
- TV units, coffee tables and occasional furniture
- Flat-pack furniture, assembled or disassembled as required
- Outdoor furniture, small barbecues (clean and empty), benches and storage boxes
Items We Typically Exclude
For safety and insurance reasons, there are some items we normally cannot move as part of standard furniture removals:
- Hazardous materials (fuel, gas bottles, chemicals, paint tins, solvents)
- Illegal items or items of unknown origin
- Heavy industrial machinery requiring specialist lifting equipment
- Unboxed loose liquids or food that may spill
- High-value artwork, jewellery or cash (we recommend specialist or personal transport)
If you are unsure about a particular item, ask us during your enquiry and we will advise on the safest option.
Our Step-by-Step Furniture Removals Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
You can contact Man and Van West Hampstead by phone, email or online form. We will ask a few key questions: what furniture needs moving, current and destination addresses, access details, dates and any special requirements. Based on this, we provide a clear, no-obligation quote, usually with a fixed price or a transparent hourly rate, depending on the job.
2. Survey – Virtual or Onsite
For larger moves or more complex properties, we recommend a short video call survey or an onsite visit. This allows us to assess access, parking, staircases, lifts and large items that may need dismantling. A proper survey means we send the right size vehicle, the correct number of movers and any specialist equipment, reducing delays on the day.
3. Packing & Preparation
You can choose to pack smaller items yourself, or we can provide a packing service for a full move. For furniture removals, we focus heavily on preparation: protecting corners, wrapping delicate surfaces, covering mattresses and soft furnishings, and dismantling beds, tables and wardrobes where needed. We bring blankets, shrink wrap and tools to ensure everything is ready to move safely.
4. Loading & Transport
On move day, our trained team arrives on time, reviews the plan with you and starts loading in an orderly way. Heavy and bulky items are moved using the correct lifting techniques and equipment. Furniture is secured in the vehicle to prevent shifting during transit. We then transport your belongings directly to the new address, using local West Hampstead route knowledge to avoid unnecessary delays where possible.
5. Unloading & Placement
On arrival, we unload your furniture carefully and place each item in the rooms you specify. We can reassemble furniture that we dismantled, and will position larger pieces so that you can start using them straight away. Before leaving, we check that you are satisfied with the placement and overall condition of your furniture.
Transparent Pricing for Furniture Removals
We believe in clear, upfront pricing. Costs are typically based on:
- Volume and type of furniture
- Distance between properties
- Access (stairs, lifts, long walks, restricted parking)
- Number of movers required
- Additional services such as packing or dismantling and reassembly
We provide written quotes so you know exactly what is included. There are no hidden charges for fuel or standard insurance. Any potential extra costs, such as congestion or parking fees, are clearly explained in advance.
Why Choose Professional Removals Instead of DIY
Moving furniture yourself or relying on a casual, unregulated man-and-van often seems cheaper at first, but it can quickly become more costly and stressful if things go wrong. With Man and Van West Hampstead you benefit from:
- Trained movers who know how to protect and handle heavy and fragile items
- Proper equipment and vehicles designed for removals
- Fully insured cover for your belongings and property
- Experienced planning around access, parking and timing
- Reduced risk of damage to furniture, walls, doors and floors
Using a professional service means you can focus on the rest of your move, confident that the physical work and logistics are handled correctly.
Insurance and Professional Standards
We take responsibility for your belongings seriously and operate to recognised professional standards.
- Goods in transit insurance – covers your furniture while it is being moved in our vehicles, subject to policy terms and declared values.
- Public liability cover – protects against accidental damage to third-party property during the move.
- Trained moving teams – all staff receive practical training in lifting, loading, securing and protecting items, as well as customer care.
We are transparent about our insurance cover and are happy to provide details on request. If you have particularly high-value items, we can discuss any additional cover or special handling required.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
Every move is carried out with a focus on care and respect, both for your belongings and your property. We use blankets, covers and floor protection where needed to minimise scuffs and marks. Furniture is wrapped and secured to prevent transit damage.
We also work towards more sustainable removals by reusing durable protective materials, avoiding unnecessary journeys, and planning routes efficiently. Where possible, we encourage customers to use recyclable boxes and materials, and we can recommend local options for responsible disposal of unwanted items.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does furniture removal in West Hampstead cost?
Pricing depends on the volume and type of furniture, the distance between addresses, access considerations and whether you need additional services such as packing or dismantling. Smaller jobs may be priced on an hourly rate, while full property moves are usually quoted as a fixed price. Once we have the details of your move, we provide a written quote outlining exactly what is included, with no hidden charges. This allows you to budget accurately and compare like-for-like with other professional services.
Can you do same-day or urgent furniture removals?
Yes, we can often accommodate same-day or short-notice moves in West Hampstead, especially for smaller furniture removals. Availability depends on our existing bookings and the size of your move, so it is always best to contact us as early as possible. When we accept an urgent booking, we still follow a structured process, confirming what needs moving, access details and timings, so that even a last-minute move is carried out safely and efficiently.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. Your furniture is covered by our goods in transit insurance while it is being moved in our vehicles, subject to policy terms and any declared values. We also hold public liability cover, which protects against accidental damage to third-party property. Our team is trained to minimise risk, using protective materials and proper handling techniques. We are happy to explain our insurance in more detail and, for particularly high-value items, we can discuss whether any additional cover or specialist arrangements are advisable.
What is included in your furniture removals service?
Our standard service includes provision of a suitable vehicle, a trained removals team, loading and unloading of your furniture, and safe transport between addresses. We protect items with blankets and other materials and place furniture in the rooms you specify at the destination. Optional extras include packing of smaller items, dismantling and reassembling furniture, and the supply of boxes and packing materials. All inclusions are set out clearly in your quote, so you know exactly what to expect on move day.
How is a professional removals service different from a basic man-and-van?
A casual man-and-van may simply provide transport and some lifting, often without formal training or insurance. A professional removals service, like Man and Van West Hampstead, offers trained staff, fully insured operations, planned surveys, proper packing and protection, and vehicles set up specifically for removals. We follow a clear process from enquiry to completion, provide written quotes, and operate to consistent standards. This reduces the risk of damage, delays and unexpected costs, giving you greater peace of mind.
How far in advance should I book my furniture removal?
For the best choice of dates and times, especially at busy periods such as month-end or weekends, we recommend booking your move at least one to two weeks in advance. That said, we understand that moves are not always planned that far ahead. If your timeline is shorter, contact us as soon as you know your dates and we will do our best to accommodate you. Early booking also allows time for a survey, which helps ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.

Our student removals are tailored to smaller moves, often with stairs, awkward access and limited parking. We handle:
- Single rooms in halls of residence
- Student studio or one-bed flats
- Shared houses and HMOs
- Moves between universities or campuses
- End-of-term storage runs and summer moves
Every move is carried out by trained local movers who understand the West Hampstead area, university schedules and the need to keep costs sensible.

Working daily in and around West Hampstead, we know the local streets, stations and typical student accommodation layouts. That local knowledge means we can plan around:
- Busy roads and parking restrictions
- Narrow staircases and older buildings
- Time‑restricted loading bays near halls and blocks
- Coordinating with concierge or building management where required
This helps us keep your move efficient, on time, and as low‑stress as possible, even during peak changeover weekends.

Landlords
Landlords and letting agents often need swift, tidy removals between tenancies. We can clear student rooms or flats, move items into storage, and transport furniture between properties in a cost‑effective, professional way.
Businesses
Local businesses and student accommodation providers use our team for internal moves, furniture redistribution and set‑ups for student lets or serviced apartments.
Students
Our core service is designed for students moving in and out of West Hampstead. From a few suitcases and boxes to a small flat’s worth of belongings, we offer flexible, affordable options that fit exam timetables and term dates.

Our Step‑by‑Step Student Removals Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
Contact us by phone, email or online with your dates, addresses and a rough list of items. We provide a clear, no‑obligation quote based on the size of your load, access, distance and any extra services such as packing.
2. Survey (Virtual or Onsite)
For most student moves, a quick virtual survey – photos, video call or a detailed item list – is enough. For larger or more complex moves, we can arrange an onsite visit. This ensures we send the right vehicle, crew and equipment on the day.
3. Packing & Preparation
You can pack your own belongings, or choose our packing service. We supply quality boxes, tape and packing materials and can pack everything from books to kitchenware. We label boxes clearly to make unpacking easier at your new place.
4. Loading & Transport
On moving day, our trained team arrives on time, protects your items with blankets and covers, and loads the van systematically. We secure everything for transport, then drive directly to your destination using efficient routes in and out of West Hampstead.
5. Unloading & Placement
At your new home, we unload and place items into the rooms you request. We can reassemble basic furniture, position larger pieces safely and remove used packing materials where agreed, leaving you ready to settle in.
Transparent, Fair Pricing
We know students and families must work to a budget. Our pricing for student removals in West Hampstead is straightforward and explained in advance. Costs typically depend on:
- Volume of items and size of van required
- Number of movers needed
- Travel distance and any congestion/parking charges
- Optional services such as packing or furniture assembly
We provide a clear written quote with no hidden extras. If your inventory changes before moving day, just let us know so we can update the estimate accordingly.
Why Choose Professional Removals Over DIY?
Hiring a casual van or asking friends might seem cheaper, but it often ends up costing more in time, damage and stress. With Man and Van West Hampstead you get:
- Professional handling of fragile and heavy items
- Reduced risk of damage to belongings and property
- Efficient loading, saving multiple trips
- Drivers used to London traffic and West Hampstead’s roads
- Proper equipment – trolleys, straps and protective blankets
- Insurance cover that informal help simply does not provide
For an important life step like starting or finishing university, using an experienced removals team gives you peace of mind.
Insurance and Professional Standards
Your possessions matter. Our service is fully supported by:
- Goods in transit insurance – covering your belongings while they are in our vehicles
- Public liability cover – protecting against accidental damage to property during the move
- Trained moving teams – all staff are briefed in safe lifting techniques, packing methods and property protection
We follow clear procedures for handling electronics, mattresses and fragile items and keep accurate records of your move so any issues can be resolved fairly.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We take care to protect both your belongings and the environment:
- Use of padded blankets, mattress covers and floor protection where needed
- Careful stacking and securing inside the van to avoid movement
- Re‑usable crates and durable boxes available on request
- Responsible disposal or recycling of unwanted items by arrangement
- Route planning to minimise unnecessary mileage and emissions
We aim to work neatly and respectfully in halls and shared houses, keeping communal areas clean and clear.
Real‑World Use Cases
Moving Into Halls
We regularly help first‑year students move from home into halls near West Hampstead. We coordinate timings with arrival slots, handle stairs and lifts, and make sure everything is in your room quickly so families can focus on goodbyes rather than carrying boxes.
Between Shared Houses
Second and third‑year students often move between shared houses each summer. We can collect from several rooms in one property, deliver to different addresses, and keep track of whose boxes are whose, making a complex move much simpler.
End‑of‑Term or Urgent Moves
Sometimes moves are last‑minute – course changes, landlord issues or personal circumstances. Subject to availability, we offer same‑day or short‑notice student removals in West Hampstead, keeping things calm and organised even when time is tight.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a student removal in West Hampstead cost?
Costs vary depending on how much you are moving, the distance between addresses, access at each property and whether you need extra services such as packing or assembly. Many student moves fall into our smaller‑load brackets, which keeps prices reasonable. We are always happy to work within a budget and suggest ways to save, such as being flexible on times or packing in advance. The best way to get an accurate price is to send us a list or photos for a no‑obligation quote.
Can you do same‑day or urgent student moves?
Yes, where our schedule allows, we can provide same‑day or short‑notice student removals in West Hampstead. This is particularly common at the end of term or when tenancy dates change unexpectedly. If you need an urgent move, contact us as early as you can with your addresses, item list and any deadlines. We will confirm availability, provide a clear price, and work out a practical plan so that even a last‑minute move feels controlled rather than rushed.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. We provide goods in transit insurance covering your possessions while they are in our vehicles, as well as public liability insurance for any accidental damage to property during loading and unloading. This is a key advantage over informal help or hiring a van on your own. We still ask that you pack carefully and let us know about particularly delicate or high‑value items so we can give them extra protection and record them properly on our paperwork.
What is included in your student removals service?
Our standard service includes a suitable vehicle, a professional crew, protective blankets and straps, loading at your current address, safe transport, and unloading into the rooms you choose at your new place. We can add optional extras such as packing, supply of boxes, dismantling and reassembly of basic furniture, and removal of unwanted items by prior agreement. When we send your quote, we clearly list everything included so you know exactly what to expect on the day.
How is your service different from a basic man‑and‑van?
While we offer a flexible man‑and‑van style option, our approach is that of a professional removals company. That means fully insured vehicles, trained staff, proper equipment, clear booking processes and written confirmation of your move details. We focus on careful handling, punctuality and communication, not just transporting items from A to B. For students, this added reliability makes a real difference when you are working around check‑in times, examinations or travel connections.
How far in advance should I book my student move?
For term‑time weekends and key moving periods (such as late summer), we recommend booking two to four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date and time. Outside of peak periods, we can often accommodate bookings with much shorter notice. If your tenancy dates are not final yet, you can still contact us for an estimate and provisional plan. Once your dates are confirmed, we can firm up the booking and make any adjustments needed to suit your schedule and budget.

- Pianos and particularly heavy safes (specialist crews may be arranged)
- Pets and live plants in large quantities
- Dismantling of built-in furniture or major fixtures
If you are unsure about a particular item, we will clarify during the survey so everything is agreed before moving day.
Our Step-by-Step Flat Removals Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
Contact Man and Van West Hampstead by phone or online with your move details: current and new addresses, flat floor levels, lift access, parking situation, and an approximate inventory. We will provide a clear, no-obligation quote based on the volume of items, access conditions and distance.
2. Survey – Virtual or Onsite
For most flat moves, we recommend a short virtual or onsite survey. This lets us:
- Assess stairs, lifts and corridors
- Check for tight corners or access restrictions
- Confirm any dismantling required
- Plan vehicle size and number of movers
This step reduces the risk of delays and ensures we arrive properly prepared.
3. Packing & Preparation
We offer two options:
- Packing service – Our team supplies materials and packs your belongings, wrapping fragile items, protecting furniture and labelling boxes.
- Self-packing – You pack your items; we can still provide quality boxes and packing materials if needed.
On moving day, we protect floors, bannisters and doors with covers and padding, particularly in communal areas, to avoid any scuffs or damage.
4. Loading & Transport
Our experienced movers carefully load your belongings, using trolleys and lifting equipment where access allows. We make sure heavier items are secured and fragile pieces are positioned safely. Your goods are transported in clean, well-maintained vehicles under goods in transit insurance.
5. Unloading & Placement
At your new flat, we unload everything into the rooms you specify and place large items such as beds and sofas where you want them. If agreed, we can reassemble basic flat-pack furniture. Before leaving, we do a final check with you to confirm everything has arrived and is where it should be.
Transparent Pricing for Flat Removals in West Hampstead
We believe in straightforward, transparent pricing. Your quote will normally be based on:
- Volume of belongings (number of rooms and boxes)
- Access difficulty (floors, lift use, tight staircases)
- Distance between properties
- Services required (packing, dismantling, evening or weekend slots)
You will receive a clear breakdown of costs with no hidden extras. Any potential additional charges (such as congestion zone fees or long carry distances) are explained in advance so you can budget with confidence.
Why Use Professional Flat Removals Instead of DIY
Attempting a flat move yourself or using an informal man-with-a-van often leads to difficulties, especially in West Hampstead’s busier streets and older buildings. Our professional service offers:
- Trained movers who know how to handle stairs, lifts and awkward furniture safely
- Proper protective equipment and materials to minimise damage
- Planned access and parking arrangements to avoid fines or delays
- Fully insured vehicles and staff for your peace of mind
- Reliable scheduling so you can coordinate keys, cleaners and landlords
The result is less stress, reduced risk of injury, and a lower chance of damage to your belongings or the building.
Insurance and Professional Standards
As a local removals company, we work to professional standards on every job:
- Goods in transit insurance covering your belongings while they are in our vehicles
- Public liability cover to protect against accidental damage to property or third parties
- Trained moving teams with experience in flat and apartment relocations
- Risk assessments for more complex moves or buildings with strict management rules
We are happy to provide confirmation of cover if your building management or landlord requires it before issuing permits.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We treat every flat move as if we were moving our own belongings:
- Furniture blankets, mattress covers and corner protectors used as standard
- Floor and wall protection in communal hallways and lifts
- Careful stacking and securing of loads inside the van
Where possible, we use reusable protective materials and sturdy crates, and we aim to minimise unnecessary journeys to reduce our environmental impact in and around West Hampstead.
Real-World Use Cases for Flat Removals in West Hampstead
- Moving house – Families and couples upsizing from a flat to a house, often with tight completion deadlines.
- Office relocation – Small businesses shifting from a serviced apartment-style office to new premises.
- Urgent moves – Last-minute tenancy changes, landlord requests, or emergency relocations due to leaks or building works.
- Student moves – End-of-term clear-outs or moves between shared flats and halls.
In each case we adapt the team size, vehicle type and timing to suit your specific situation.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do flat removals in West Hampstead cost?
Costs depend on the size of your flat, volume of belongings, access conditions and distance between properties. A small studio move within West Hampstead can often be completed in half a day, while a larger two- or three-bedroom flat may require a full day and a larger team. Additional services such as packing, dismantling furniture or out-of-hours slots will affect the price. We always provide a clear, itemised quote in advance so you know exactly what you are paying for with no surprises on the day.
Can you handle same-day or urgent flat removals?
We can often accommodate same-day or short-notice moves in West Hampstead, especially for smaller flats or partial moves. Availability depends on our existing schedule, so the earlier you contact us, the better. For urgent jobs, we focus on the essentials: getting key furniture and personal belongings out safely and on time. We will advise realistically what can be achieved within your timeframe and may suggest a staged move if that suits your circumstances and access restrictions.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. Your items are covered by our goods in transit insurance while they are in our vehicles and under our control. We also hold public liability cover for accidental damage to property or third parties during the move. There are standard limits and exclusions, for example for particularly high-value items or certain restricted goods. We are happy to explain the cover in detail and, if needed, you can arrange additional specialist insurance for valuables that fall outside normal removals policies.
What is included in your flat removals service?
Our standard service includes loading, transport and unloading of your belongings between properties, plus basic protection such as blankets, straps and floor covers. We place furniture and boxes into the rooms you specify and can reassemble simple flat-pack items if agreed in advance. Optional extras include a full or partial packing service, supply of packing materials, and dismantling of larger furniture. We clarify exactly what is and is not included in your quote so that you can choose the level of help you need.
How is a professional removals service different from a basic man-and-van?
A casual man-and-van service typically offers transport only, with limited labour, planning or protection. Our professional flat removals include trained staff, proper equipment, fully insured vehicles and a structured process from survey to final placement. We are used to working with building managers, dealing with lift bookings and protecting communal areas. This reduces the risk of damage, delays and disputes with landlords or neighbours. In short, you are paying for experience, reliability and accountability, not just for a vehicle and a driver.
How far in advance should I book my flat removal?
For a smooth experience, we recommend booking your West Hampstead flat removal 2–4 weeks in advance, especially if you are moving on a Friday, weekend or at the end of the month, when demand is highest. However, we understand that flat moves often have tight or changing dates, so we try to be as flexible as possible. If your completion or tenancy date is not fixed yet, we can provide a provisional booking and confirm details once everything is agreed.
Piano Removals
Piano Removals West Hampstead – Man and Van West Hampstead
Moving a piano is very different from moving standard furniture. At Man and Van West Hampstead, we provide a dedicated piano removals service designed to protect your instrument, your property and your peace of mind. With years of hands-on experience across West Hampstead and the surrounding areas, we move uprights, baby grands and more with care, planning and the right equipment.
Specialist Piano Removal Services in West Hampstead
Our piano removals are carried out by trained, professional teams who understand the construction, weight balance and vulnerabilities of different pianos. We use piano skates, straps, protective covers and, where required, additional crew to ensure safe handling from room to vehicle and from vehicle into the new property.
Whether you are moving between flats in West Hampstead, relocating a piano to a teaching studio, or transferring an instrument between family members, we plan every stage to minimise risk and disruption.
Who Our Piano Removals Service Is For
Our piano removals in West Hampstead are suitable for:
- Homeowners – moving house and taking a treasured family piano to your new property.
- Renters – relocating between rented flats where access, stairs and parking need careful handling.
- Landlords – removing or repositioning pianos between properties or common areas.
- Businesses – including schools, music studios, churches and performance venues needing reliable piano transportation.
- Students – music students moving between halls, shared houses and family homes with practice pianos.
Whether you have a single upright in a first-floor flat or several instruments across multiple sites, we tailor our service to your specific needs.
What We Can and Cannot Move
Items Included in Our Piano Removals
As part of our piano removals service, we regularly move:
- Upright pianos (including overstrung and older models)
- Baby grand pianos (with careful dismantling where required)
- Digital pianos and stage pianos
- Piano stools, benches and matching accessories
- Music stands and small related items (by prior agreement)
Items Typically Excluded
To keep your piano move safe and compliant, we usually exclude the following from this specialist service:
- Concert grand pianos requiring cranes or specialist hoists
- Organs permanently fixed to buildings or floors
- Large safes or machinery (these require different handling and insurance)
- Hazardous materials, flammables or chemicals
If your move involves particularly restricted access, unusual staircases, or very large instruments, we will discuss this during the survey and, if needed, recommend additional specialist support.
Our Step-by-Step Piano Removals Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
It starts with a simple enquiry. Tell us the piano type, both addresses, floor levels, access details and any time constraints. We provide a clear, no-obligation quote explaining what is included, the likely duration and any options such as additional helpers. Our pricing is transparent, with no hidden extras for normal conditions.
2. Survey – Virtual or Onsite
For many piano moves, we can complete a detailed virtual survey using photos or a video call. For more complex jobs – tight staircases, basement access or unusual layouts – we may recommend an onsite visit. The survey allows us to choose the right team size, equipment, and vehicle, ensuring the move is safe and efficient on the day.
3. Packing & Preparation
On moving day, we begin by protecting the piano and your property. We use thick quilted covers, padding and, where appropriate, secure wrapping around vulnerable areas. Floors, bannisters and doorways are protected as needed. For baby grands, we may remove the legs and pedal lyre carefully, labelling and securing fittings for reassembly at the destination.
4. Loading & Transport
The piano is then placed onto a piano skate or trolley and manoeuvred safely out of the property by our trained team. We use agreed lifting points and communication to keep every movement controlled. The instrument is secured in the vehicle using straps and blocks to prevent movement during transit. Our vans are equipped to handle heavy, delicate loads safely.
5. Unloading & Placement
At the new address, we carry out the reverse process just as carefully. We position your piano in the chosen room, ensuring it is level and stable. For dismantled baby grands, we reattach legs and components before final placement. We tidy up any protective materials and check you are satisfied with the location and condition of the instrument before we leave.
Transparent Piano Removals Pricing
Piano removal costs in West Hampstead depend on several factors:
- Type and size of piano (upright vs baby grand)
- Number of steps or floors at each property
- Distance between addresses
- Access constraints (tight corners, narrow staircases, parking)
- Any additional services required (e.g. extra porters)
We provide clear, itemised quotes so you know exactly what you are paying for. Where we anticipate any potential additional costs, these are explained up front. We do not charge hidden fees for normal waiting times, reasonable walking distances or standard protective materials.
Why Use Professional Piano Movers Instead of DIY
Attempting to move a piano yourself or using a casual man-and-van can be risky. Pianos are extremely heavy yet delicately balanced, with sensitive internal mechanisms. Improper handling can lead to:
- Damage to the instrument, including broken legs, strained frames or internal misalignment
- Injuries to untrained helpers due to weight and awkward shape
- Damage to floors, walls, bannisters and door frames
Our professional piano removals use the correct equipment, experienced crews and structured techniques to avoid these problems. The added reassurance of proper insurance and planning makes a significant difference compared with ad-hoc solutions.
Insurance & Professional Standards
Man and Van West Hampstead operates to defined standards designed to protect you and your instrument:
- Goods in transit insurance to cover your piano while it is in our care and on our vehicle.
- Public liability cover in case of accidental damage to third-party property during the move.
- Trained moving teams who understand safe lifting, handling and route planning for heavy, delicate items.
We will happily confirm the details of our cover and processes before you book, so you know exactly where you stand.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
Pianos often carry significant financial and emotional value, so we treat every instrument with respect. Our approach focuses on:
- Using quality protective covers, blankets and padding
- Planning routes to avoid unnecessary lifting and turning
- Keeping load movements smooth and controlled throughout
We also consider sustainability where possible. Reusable protective materials, efficient route planning and well-maintained vehicles help reduce waste and unnecessary emissions, without compromising safety or care.
Real-World Piano Removal Scenarios We Handle
Moving House in West Hampstead
When you move home, your piano is often the single heaviest item. We coordinate with your wider house removal so the piano is moved safely and efficiently, minimising disruption on an already busy day.
Office, School or Studio Relocations
We regularly move pianos for music schools, rehearsal studios, offices and community venues. We can work around opening hours, lessons or events to ensure business continuity, and we liaise with building management where necessary.
Urgent or Short-Notice Piano Moves
Sometimes instruments must be moved quickly – for example, following a property purchase, end of tenancy, or last-minute venue changes. When our schedule allows, we offer same-day or next-day piano removals across West Hampstead and nearby areas.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a piano removal in West Hampstead cost?
The cost of a piano removal varies depending on the piano type, access and distance. Upright moves with straightforward ground-floor access are usually at the lower end of our pricing, while baby grands or multi-floor moves cost more due to extra labour and time. We always ask key questions about stairs, parking, and property layout before quoting. You’ll receive a clear, fixed-price estimate with no hidden extras for normal conditions, so you know the cost in advance.
Can you handle same-day or urgent piano removals?
Where our schedule allows, we can provide same-day or short-notice piano removals in West Hampstead. Availability depends on crew, vehicle and equipment already booked, so it’s best to call us as early in the day as possible. If we can’t accommodate the exact time you want, we’ll offer the closest alternative. Even for urgent jobs, we still follow a brief survey process to ensure the move is safe, realistic and properly resourced.
Is my piano insured during the move?
Yes. Your piano is covered under our goods in transit insurance while it is being handled by our team and transported in our vehicles. We also hold public liability cover for accidental damage to third-party property. Insurance is designed as a safety net, not a substitute for care, so our teams focus on prevention first – correct equipment, sensible routes and careful handling. We are happy to outline our cover limits and conditions before you confirm your booking.
What is included in your piano removals service?
Our standard piano removals service includes the crew, vehicle, protective equipment, loading, transport and placement of the piano in your chosen room. We protect the instrument with padded covers and secure it properly in the van. For baby grands, basic dismantling and reassembly (legs and pedal lyre) are included where required. Quotes detail what is and is not covered, so you know whether any additional porters, difficult access surcharges, or parking arrangements are needed in advance.
How is a professional piano removal different from a basic man-and-van?
A general man-and-van service may be fine for boxes and small furniture, but pianos need more. Our teams are specifically trained to handle heavy, delicate items and use proper piano skates, straps and padding. We plan routes carefully to avoid awkward turns or unsafe lifting, and we hold appropriate insurance tailored to higher-value moves. This combination of experience, equipment and cover makes a professional piano removal significantly safer and more reliable than a casual, non-specialist service.
How far in advance should I book a piano removal?
For the best choice of dates and times, we recommend booking your piano removal at least one to two weeks in advance, especially if you need a specific slot or are moving at month-end. That said, we understand that not all moves can be planned so far ahead. If you have a tight deadline, contact us as soon as you know the dates; we’ll check our schedule and do our best to accommodate you, even at short notice.

- Personal belongings: boxes, suitcases, books, clothes, kitchenware
- Electronics: TVs, computers, monitors, audio equipment, printers

- Unsealed food or perishable items for long-distance moves
- Pets and live animals

Our Step-by-Step Man with Van Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
Contact us by phone, email or our online form with your addresses, access details, list of main items and preferred date. We provide a clear, no-obligation quote based on the information you share, including the right van size and number of movers.
2. Survey (Virtual or Onsite)
For anything more than a very small move, we recommend a brief video or onsite survey. This lets us check access, parking, staircases and lifts, and confirm the volume of goods. A proper survey prevents surprises on the day and ensures we allocate adequate time and staff.
3. Packing & Preparation
You can handle the packing yourself or choose our packing service. If we pack for you, we supply quality boxes, wrapping and tape, and ensure fragile items are protected. If you pack, we provide guidance on labelling, box weight and how best to protect delicate belongings.
4. Loading & Transport
On moving day our trained team arrives on time, carries out a quick walk-through, and then carefully loads your items. Furniture and large pieces are wrapped or covered with moving blankets, and everything is secured in the van to minimise movement during transport. We then travel directly to your new address, following the route we have planned in advance.
5. Unloading & Placement
At the destination we unload, place items in the rooms you indicate and position larger furniture where you want it. We work systematically to avoid damage to walls, floors and doors, and we are happy to adjust item placement within reason before we leave.
Transparent Pricing
We believe in straightforward, transparent pricing. Our man with van service is typically charged on an hourly basis with a minimum booking period, which we confirm before you commit.
How we calculate your price
- Van size required (small, medium or large)
- Number of movers needed
- Estimated job duration, including travel time
- Distance between addresses
- Optional extras such as packing or materials
All charges, including any congestion or parking costs, are explained upfront. We do not add surprise fees on the day. For larger or longer-distance moves, we can also offer fixed-price quotations.
Why Choose a Professional Man with Van Over DIY
Hiring a professional man with van team offers several advantages over doing it yourself or using a casual, unvetted driver:
- Safety: We use proper lifting techniques and equipment to reduce the risk of injury and damage.
- Protection: Your belongings are wrapped, padded and secured correctly in the van.
- Insurance: Our goods in transit insurance and public liability cover provide financial protection if the unexpected happens.
- Reliability: Confirmed bookings, clear arrival windows and professional communication.
- Efficiency: Experienced movers work quickly and know how to deal with awkward items and access.
When you factor in van hire costs, fuel, parking, and the risk of breakages or injury, a properly run man with van service is often the more sensible and economical option.
Insurance and Professional Standards
We operate as a fully compliant removals business, not a casual side-line. That means:
- Goods in transit insurance protecting your belongings while they are in our care
- Public liability cover in case of accidental damage to property or third parties
- Trained staff who are experienced in handling and loading techniques
- Regularly maintained vehicles equipped with blankets, straps and trolleys
- Written confirmations of bookings and clear terms and conditions
If you need proof of insurance for your building management or office, we can provide documentation in advance.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We treat your belongings and your property with the same care we would our own. That means using protective covers, floor runners where appropriate, and taking the time to plan the route for larger items. We also aim to work in a more sustainable way by:
- Reusing and recycling packing materials wherever possible
- Encouraging customers to return or re-use boxes
- Planning routes efficiently to cut unnecessary mileage
- Maintaining vehicles to reduce emissions and breakdowns
*Careful planning and thoughtful handling are at the heart of every move we carry out.*
Real-World Use Cases
Moving House in West Hampstead
Many of our jobs involve moving families or couples between local streets and nearby neighbourhoods such as Hampstead, Kilburn or Queen's Park. A man with van setup is often ideal for one- and two-bed properties, especially where access is tight.
Small Office and Studio Relocations
We regularly help small businesses, therapists and creative studios move within office buildings or to new premises. We pay close attention to IT equipment, files and stock, keeping disruption as low as possible.
Urgent or Last-Minute Moves
When a tenancy changes suddenly or a delivery falls through, we do our best to provide short-notice or same-day man with van availability. While this depends on our schedule, our local base in West Hampstead means we can often respond quickly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a man with van service in West Hampstead cost?
Costs depend on the size of van, number of movers, distance and the time required. For most local moves we charge an hourly rate with a minimum booking period. To keep things fair, our quote will include estimated loading and travel time, plus any expected parking or congestion costs. For larger moves or longer distances, we can offer a fixed price after a quick survey. Share a list of key items and access details, and we will provide a clear, written estimate before you book.
Can you provide same-day or urgent man with van bookings?
We can often arrange same-day or urgent moves in West Hampstead, especially on weekdays outside peak times. Availability varies, so it is best to call us as early as possible. If we can help, we will confirm a time window, van size and the crew we can allocate. For urgent work we keep the process simple: a brief discussion of what needs moving, access details, and then a straightforward confirmation so we can get to you quickly and safely.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. All moves are covered by our goods in transit insurance, which protects your items while they are in our vehicle, and our public liability cover, which protects against accidental damage to property or third parties. We can explain the key limits and exclusions when you book so you know exactly what is covered. For particularly high-value or unusual items, we may recommend additional cover or a slightly different handling approach to ensure you are fully protected.
What is included in your man with van removals service?
Our standard service includes the vehicle, one or more professional movers, loading, transport and unloading at your new address. We bring blankets, straps and trolleys to protect and handle your items safely. On request, we can add packing, supply boxes and materials, or help with basic furniture dismantling and reassembly. We do not typically disconnect appliances or handle hazardous materials, but we are happy to advise on what you can do ahead of time so everything runs smoothly on the day.
What is the difference between your service and a basic man-and-van?
Many casual man-and-van operators simply provide a driver and vehicle, with limited help, no formal training and often no insurance. Our service is a fully run removals operation: trained staff, proper equipment, documented insurance, confirmed bookings and clear communication from first enquiry to final item placed. We handle the planning, careful loading and protection of your belongings, aiming to reduce stress and risk. The result is a more reliable, safer and often more efficient move overall.
How far in advance should I book?
For standard moves, we recommend booking 1–2 weeks in advance, particularly if you are moving on a Friday or at month-end, when demand in West Hampstead is highest. That said, we understand that not every move comes with much notice, so we will always try to accommodate shorter lead times. Once you know your likely moving date, get in touch and we can pencil you in, then finalise details when your plans are confirmed.

- Full flat and house moves within West Hampstead and across London
- Partial moves – selected rooms or key items only

Despite the short notice, we still follow a structured process, use suitable vehicles, and send trained staff to ensure your move is handled safely and efficiently.
Local Expertise in West Hampstead
Working day in, day out in West Hampstead means we know the local streets, parking rules and building layouts very well. This local knowledge helps us:
- Plan the quickest routes at different times of day
- Deal with controlled parking zones and loading restrictions
- Handle narrow staircases and mansion blocks common in the area
- Coordinate with concierges, porters and building managers
On a same day move, this experience really counts. We can anticipate common access issues and work around them so your move runs as smoothly as possible.
Who Our Same Day Removals Service Is For
Homeowners
If your completion date has shifted, a previous mover has cancelled, or you simply need to move earlier than planned, we can step in and provide a reliable, same day moving service for houses and larger properties.
Renters
For tenants facing a sudden change of plans, end-of-tenancy deadlines or landlord requests, we offer flexible, short-notice removals tailored to flat and apartment moves, including help with basic dismantling and reassembly where required.
Landlords & Letting Agents
We work with landlords and agents who need fast, professional clearances or tenant move-outs on the same day, helping prepare properties for new tenants while respecting building rules and neighbours.
Businesses
From small offices to local shops, we support urgent relocations, last-minute furniture moves and clearance of workspaces, minimising downtime and disruption to your operations.
Students
Missed booking your move? Need to vacate halls quickly? Our same day service is ideal for student moves with a mix of boxes, suitcases, desks and a few pieces of furniture.
What We Can and Cannot Move
Items Typically Included
Our same day removals service usually includes:
- Household furniture – beds, sofas, wardrobes, tables, chairs
- White goods – fridges, freezers, washing machines (disconnected)
- Boxes, bags, suitcases and storage crates
- Office desks, filing cabinets, chairs and IT equipment
- TVs, audio systems and general household electronics
- Bikes, small garden items and tools
Items Excluded or Needing Special Arrangement
For safety, legal or insurance reasons, we cannot move:
- Hazardous materials (fuel, gas cylinders, chemicals)
- Illegal items or anything prohibited by law
- Large commercial machinery requiring specialist lifting
- Unboxed loose valuables, cash or high-value jewellery
- Animals and live plants in poor condition
We may be able to move pianos, safes or very heavy items by prior arrangement, but these must be discussed at the enquiry stage so we can allocate the right equipment and staff.
Our Step-by-Step Same Day Removals Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
Contact us by phone or online with as much detail as possible: collection and delivery addresses, property type, floors, lift access, parking and a rough list of items. We’ll confirm same day availability and provide a clear, no-obligation price estimate based on the information you provide.
2. Survey – Virtual or Onsite
For many same day moves, we carry out a quick virtual survey via video call or photos. For larger or more complex moves, if time allows, we may attend onsite. The survey helps us select the right vehicle size, number of movers and any equipment such as dollies or protective covers.
3. Packing & Preparation
If you’ve already packed, we will check everything is safe to load, secure loose items and label anything fragile. If you need help, we can provide packing services on the day for an additional charge, using appropriate materials to protect your belongings.
4. Loading & Transport
Our trained team will protect entrances and key furniture, then load the van in a safe, methodical order. Items are secured using straps and blankets to prevent movement in transit. We then transport your belongings using planned routes, taking into account London traffic and any timing constraints you may have.
5. Unloading & Placement
On arrival at your new property, we unload items into the rooms you specify, placing larger furniture where you want it. We can reassemble basic flat-pack furniture by prior agreement. Before leaving, we carry out a final check with you to ensure nothing has been left behind in the vehicle.
Transparent Pricing for Same Day Removals
Same day removals are typically priced based on:
- Size of vehicle required
- Number of movers needed
- Distance between addresses
- Access issues (stairs only, no lift, long walks)
- Additional services such as packing or dismantling
Because of the urgency, rates may be higher than for pre-booked moves, especially during peak times. However, we always explain costs clearly in advance so you know exactly what you are paying for. There are no hidden charges for fuel or local congestion zones; any extra charges (such as parking fees) are discussed beforehand where possible.
Why Choose Professional Removals Over DIY
On a normal move day, DIY can be stressful. On a same day move, it can quickly become unmanageable. Using a professional removals service offers several advantages:
- Trained staff who know how to move heavy and awkward items safely
- Appropriate equipment and vehicles to protect your belongings
- Proper goods in transit insurance for your items
- Efficient loading and unloading that saves time and reduces risk of damage
- Clear communication and accountability throughout the move
Casual man-and-van services may not provide the same level of planning, insurance or reliability, which is especially risky when you are moving under tight time pressure.
Insurance and Professional Standards
Man and Van West Hampstead operates to high professional standards so your same day move is safe and compliant:
- Goods in transit insurance – covering your belongings while they are in our care and on the road, up to an agreed limit.
- Public liability cover – protecting you and your property in the unlikely event of accidental damage.
- Trained moving teams – staff are instructed in safe lifting techniques, furniture protection and secure loading.
Policy details and limits are available on request. We always encourage customers to mention any particularly high-value items so we can advise appropriately.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
Even on a same day move, we do not cut corners. We use furniture blankets, mattress covers and appropriate wrapping to protect your belongings and your property. Floors, banisters and door frames are treated with care, especially in communal areas.
Where possible, we use reusable protective materials rather than single-use plastics. We plan routes efficiently to reduce unnecessary mileage and group smaller jobs where it does not affect service quality, helping to lower our environmental impact.
Real-World Same Day Removals Use Cases
Emergency House Move
A chain change or last-minute request from a solicitor can leave you needing to move quickly. We can attend at short notice, moving your household contents safely and keeping you informed throughout, so you can focus on the legal and practical side of your move.
Urgent Office Relocation
When a lease ends or a landlord requires immediate possession, we can help businesses relocate essential furniture, files and IT equipment on the same day, minimising disruption to staff and customers.
Last-Minute Student or Flat Share Moves
If a room becomes available suddenly or you need to vacate shared accommodation at short notice, we can collect from multiple addresses, move you into your new place and position items where you need them, all in one day.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a same day removals service in West Hampstead cost?
Costs vary depending on the size of your move, distance travelled, access conditions and how many movers are required. Same day work can carry a premium, especially during busy periods, but we always aim to keep pricing fair and transparent. Once we know your addresses, property details and an approximate list of items, we provide a clear, itemised quote before you commit. There are no hidden fuel or congestion charges; any likely extras, such as parking costs or out-of-hours surcharges, are explained in advance.
Can you always offer same day or urgent availability?
We do our best to accommodate same day requests, and in many cases we can attend within a few hours. However, availability depends on existing bookings, time of day and the size of your move. Smaller flat or student moves are usually easier to fit in at short notice than large house or office relocations. The earlier in the day you contact us, the more likely we can help. Even if we cannot take the full job, we may be able to offer a partial move or next-day solution.
Are my belongings insured during a same day move?
Yes. Your items are covered by our goods in transit insurance while they are in our vehicle and under our care, subject to policy terms and limits. We also carry public liability cover for accidental damage to property. We treat your possessions with the same care on a same day move as on a planned one, using proper protection and secure loading methods. We recommend you tell us about any particularly valuable or fragile items so we can note them and advise if any extra precautions or cover are appropriate.
What is included in your same day removals service?
Our standard same day service includes the vehicle, fuel, a trained removals team, loading, transport and unloading into your new property. We provide basic protection such as blankets and straps as standard. Optional extras include packing services, supply of boxes and materials, dismantling and reassembly of furniture, and removal of unwanted items where agreed. Stair carries, long carries and multiple pick-up or drop-off points are all possible, but should be mentioned at booking so they are properly accounted for in the quote.
How is your service different from a casual man-and-van?
While we do offer a flexible "man and van" style option, we operate as a professional removals company. That means trained staff, appropriate vehicles, fully insured operations and a structured approach to planning and loading. Many casual operators do not carry the same level of insurance or follow consistent standards, which can be risky, especially for urgent moves. With us, you get clear communication, written confirmation of your booking and accountability from start to finish, even when everything has to be organised at short notice.
How far in advance should I book a same day removal?
Same day moves are, by nature, short notice, but contacting us as early as possible on the day gives us the best chance to help. If you suspect you may need to move urgently, even the day before, it is worth calling to discuss options. For larger properties or office moves, any advance notice helps us allocate the right team and vehicle. We can sometimes hold a provisional slot while you confirm details, but bookings are only secured once we have agreed the price and key timings with you.
Man and a Van
Man and a Van West Hampstead
At Man and Van West Hampstead, our man and a van service is designed for people who want a reliable, professional move without the cost or complexity of a large removal lorry. Whether you are moving a flat, a few key items, or a small office, we provide a tailored, efficient service run by trained, fully insured movers who work carefully and respectfully in your home or business.
Local Man and a Van Experts in West Hampstead
We have worked in West Hampstead and the surrounding NW6 area for years, so we understand the local streets, parking restrictions and building layouts very well. From mansion blocks on West End Lane to maisonettes off Finchley Road and compact studios off Iverson Road, we know the access issues and how to plan around tight stairwells, lift bookings and controlled parking zones.
Being local means we can respond quickly, especially for short-notice and off-peak moves, and we can often arrange same-day collections when our schedule allows. You benefit from shorter travel times, better route planning and a team that treats West Hampstead as home territory, not an unknown postcode.
Who Our Man and a Van Service Is For
Homeowners
If you are moving between houses or downsizing and do not need a full-scale removal crew, our man and a van option is ideal for partial moves, transporting bulky items, or shuttling belongings into storage. We handle furniture, boxes and fragile items with the same care as a full home move.
Renters
Tenants in West Hampstead often move between flats or in and out of house shares. Our flexible service suits 1–2 bedroom flats, part loads and single-room moves. We can help with dismantling and reassembling basic furniture, and we work with building rules and tight time slots.
Landlords
Landlords use our service to clear properties between tenancies, remove unwanted furniture, and deliver new items. We can coordinate key collection, work alongside cleaners, and ensure the property is left tidy after removals, ready for the next tenants or for redecorating.
Businesses
Local shops, studios and offices in West Hampstead rely on our professional man and a van for small office relocations, stock movements and equipment transfers. We work discreetly, protect IT and office equipment properly, and can schedule moves out of hours to minimise disruption.
Students
Students moving to or from halls and shared houses often only need a van and a helpful, experienced mover. We offer budget-friendly options for single-room moves, term-time storage runs, and collections from multiple addresses when needed.
What Our Man and a Van Service Includes

Our service covers most everyday household and office items, including:
- Sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs
- White goods such as washing machines and fridges (ground floor or lift access preferred)
- Boxes, bags, suitcases and plastic crates
- TVs, audio equipment and computers (properly packed)
- Office desks, chairs, filing cabinets and printers
- Sports equipment, bikes and hobby items
What We Cannot Move
To keep everyone safe and within our insurance terms, there are some exclusions:
- Hazardous materials (fuel, gas bottles, chemicals, paint thinners)
- Illegal goods or items of unknown origin
- Live animals or pets
- Unpacked high-value jewellery, cash or important documents
- Industrial machinery beyond domestic scale
If you are unsure about a particular item, we will clarify during the quotation stage so there are no surprises on moving day.
Our Step-by-Step Man and a Van Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
You contact us with basic details: addresses, access notes, inventory and preferred date. We provide a clear, no-obligation quote based on the size of van, number of movers and estimated time required. Pricing is transparent, with no hidden extras for stairs or reasonable walking distances.
2. Survey – Virtual or Onsite
For straightforward jobs, a phone or video survey is usually enough. For more involved moves – awkward access, large items or multiple floors – we may recommend an onsite visit in West Hampstead. This allows us to check parking, measure stairwells and confirm the best plan and vehicle size.
3. Packing & Preparation
Most man and a van customers pack their own boxes, but we can supply professional packing materials in advance. If requested, we can also provide a packing service where our trained team packs your belongings securely, labels boxes and prepares fragile items with extra protection.
4. Loading & Transport
On moving day, we arrive on time, walk through the job with you and protect key items using blankets, straps and covers. Everything is loaded systematically to maximise space and stability. Our vans are well maintained, clean and equipped for secure transport. We then drive directly to your destination using efficient local routes.
5. Unloading & Placement
At the new address, we unload items into the rooms you specify. We position furniture where you want it and can reassemble simple flat-pack items if agreed in advance. Before we leave, we check that everything listed has been delivered and placed as required.
Transparent Pricing for Man and a Van in West Hampstead
We price our man and a van service clearly and fairly, usually on an hourly basis with a minimum booking period. Your quote will set out:
- Number of movers included
- Size of van
- Estimated time for loading, travel and unloading
- Any additional services such as packing or dismantling
There are no hidden card charges or unexpected weekend surcharges. Parking costs and congestion or ULEZ charges, where applicable, are explained upfront. For fixed, straightforward jobs we may offer a set price instead of hourly billing.
Why Choose Professional Movers Over DIY or Casual Man-and-Van
Carrying out a move yourself or hiring an unvetted driver may seem cheaper, but it often leads to damaged items, delays and unnecessary stress. Our team is trained in manual handling, furniture protection and safe loading. We bring the right equipment, from trolleys and skates to mattress covers and webbing straps.
With us, you know exactly who is turning up, that they are professional, background-checked and experienced, and that your belongings are protected under the correct insurance. In practice, this often saves time, reduces risk of injury and avoids the cost of repairing or replacing damaged items.
Insurance and Professional Standards
Your belongings are covered by appropriate goods in transit insurance while they are in our care and on our vehicles. We also hold public liability cover, protecting you and your property against accidental damage caused by our team on site.
All crew members receive ongoing training in lifting techniques, safe driving, route planning and customer care. We follow industry best practice for wrapping, stacking and securing loads, and we maintain our vehicles regularly to ensure safe and reliable transport within and beyond West Hampstead.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We treat every move as if we were handling our own belongings. Furniture is wrapped with transit blankets, fragile items are placed safely, and we avoid dragging or scraping items along floors or walls. When necessary, we protect doorways, bannisters and floors.
We are also working to reduce our environmental impact. Where possible we group jobs geographically to cut unnecessary mileage, maintain our vans for better fuel efficiency and offer reusable plastic crates for larger moves. We encourage re-use of boxes and responsible disposal of unwanted items, using licensed waste partners when needed.
Real-World Man and a Van Use Cases
Moving House or Flat
Ideal for studio and 1–2 bedroom properties in West Hampstead, our service handles everything from bed frames and sofas to kitchenware and clothes. We can often complete these moves within a half or full day, depending on access and distance.
Small Office Relocations
For local offices, clinics and studios, our vans are perfect for moving desks, chairs, files and IT equipment. We can break the move into stages to keep your business running, and we work carefully around your staff and clients.
Urgent and Same-Day Moves
Sometimes plans change quickly: new tenancy dates, last-minute storage bookings or urgent clearances. Where our schedule allows, we can offer same-day or next-day man and a van services within West Hampstead and nearby areas. The more information you can provide upfront, the faster we can confirm availability.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a man and a van in West Hampstead cost?
Pricing depends on the size of van, number of movers and the estimated time needed. Most local moves are charged by the hour with a minimum booking period, which keeps costs fair for smaller jobs. Factors such as stairs, distance between addresses and any dismantling work can affect the time required. We provide a clear, no-obligation quote in advance so you know exactly what to budget, and we explain any potential additional costs like parking or congestion charges.
Can you offer same-day or urgent man and a van services?
Yes, we can often help with same-day or urgent moves in West Hampstead, depending on our existing bookings and the scale of your job. Smaller, local moves are usually easier to fit in at short notice. If you need an urgent service, call with full details of your addresses, access, inventory and timing. We will check our schedule, suggest realistic options and give you an immediate indication of availability and cost. The more flexible you can be on timing, the easier it is to fit you in.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. Your items are covered by our goods in transit insurance while they are on our vehicles, and we hold public liability cover for work at your premises. Insurance applies when we have packed, loaded and transported items in line with our guidance and terms. We will explain any limits or exclusions when you book, especially for high-value or unusual items. If you have specific concerns, we can discuss additional protection or how best to pack and document those belongings.
What is included in your man and a van service?
Our standard service includes a suitable van, an experienced driver-mover (or additional porters where required), loading, safe transport and unloading into the rooms of your choice. We supply blankets, straps and basic protection as standard. Optional extras include packing materials, a packing service, dismantling and reassembly of simple furniture, and runs to storage or recycling centres. We confirm exactly what is included in your written quote, so you know what to expect on the day.
How is your service different from a basic man-with-a-van?
Many casual operators simply provide a van and a driver. We offer a professional, structured removals service, with trained staff, proper equipment and full insurance. We conduct surveys where needed, plan routes and access, protect your belongings and your property, and provide clear documentation. Our focus is on reliable timing, careful handling and accountability from first enquiry to final placement of furniture. In short, you are getting a scaled-down removals service, not just transport.
How far in advance should I book?
For weekends and month-end dates in West Hampstead, we recommend booking at least two weeks in advance, as these periods are especially busy. For weekday moves or smaller jobs, a week’s notice is usually sufficient, and we sometimes have short-notice slots available. The more notice you give us, the more choice of times and dates you will have. However, if your plans change suddenly, it is always worth calling – we will do our best to accommodate urgent requests.
House Removals
House Removals West Hampstead – Man and Van West Hampstead
Reliable House Removals in West Hampstead
At Man and Van West Hampstead, we provide straightforward, well-organised house removals tailored to homes and businesses in West Hampstead and the surrounding areas. With years of hands-on experience moving everything from studio flats to large family homes, we focus on careful planning, safe handling, and clear communication so your move runs smoothly from start to finish.
We combine the flexibility of a local man and van team with the structure and standards of a professional removals company – ideal if you want a stress-free move handled by people who know NW6 and the wider North West London area inside out.
Who Our West Hampstead Removals Service Is For
Our house removals service is designed to be adaptable and practical for a wide range of clients in and around West Hampstead:
- Homeowners moving between houses or into West Hampstead from elsewhere in London or the UK.
- Renters moving between flats, house shares, and short-term lets, often with restricted access and tight move-out deadlines.
- Landlords needing reliable moves for furnished lets, end-of-tenancy clearances, or part-removals.
- Businesses relocating small offices, studios, or consulting rooms within West Hampstead or nearby areas.
- Students moving in or out of halls, shared houses, or small studios with limited belongings but tight timescales.
Whether you’re moving a single room or a full family home, we’ll scale the vehicle size, team and timings to suit your move and your budget.
Local Expertise in West Hampstead
Operating daily in West Hampstead, Finchley Road, Kilburn, Hampstead and surrounding postcodes means we know the local streets, parking restrictions and access issues well. That local knowledge saves you time and reduces stress on moving day.
We plan around:
- Resident and pay-and-display parking bays and how to secure space for the van.
- Narrow residential streets and tight turnings off West End Lane and Finchley Road.
- Basement flats, split-level maisonettes and top-floor conversions with no lift.
- Building access rules, concierge requirements and time windows for moves.
By planning the route, parking and access in advance, we minimise delays and protect your belongings and the property at both ends.
What’s Included in Our House Removals Service
Our standard house removals in West Hampstead typically include:
- Suitable-sized vehicle(s) with protective blankets and securing straps.
- Trained, professional movers to lift, carry and load your belongings safely.
- Disassembly and reassembly of basic furniture (beds, tables, wardrobes) where agreed.
- Protective wrapping for delicate items and soft furnishings as needed.
- Safe transport from your old property to your new address.
- Unloading into the rooms you specify, not just to the door.
We also offer optional extras:
- Packing service – full or partial packing of your belongings.
- Packing materials – boxes, tape, paper, and bubble wrap supplied in advance.
- Furniture dismantling and reassembly for more complex items by prior arrangement.
What We Cannot Move
For safety, legal and insurance reasons, some items are excluded from our standard service:
- Hazardous materials (petrol, gas cylinders, paint thinners, corrosive chemicals).
- Illegal items or anything that cannot be legally transported.
- Large quantities of building rubble, soil or commercial waste.
- Very high-value items such as fine art, jewellery or collections, unless agreed in writing and correctly insured.
- Pets and live animals – you’ll need to transport these yourself in a safe, suitable way.
If you’re unsure about any particular item, let us know during the quotation stage so we can advise or suggest alternatives.
Our Step-by-Step Removals Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
You contact us with the basics: where you’re moving from and to, property type, approximate volume, and preferred move date. We’ll ask a few targeted questions to understand access, parking, and any special items. Based on this, we provide a clear, no-obligation quotation outlining what’s included and any optional services you may want to add.
2. Survey – Virtual or Onsite
For larger or more complex moves, we recommend a free survey. This can be done via video call or an onsite visit. We review each room, storage areas, furniture, and access at both ends. The survey allows us to estimate the correct van size, number of movers, packing needs, and realistic timings so there are no surprises on the day.
3. Packing & Preparation
You can choose between:
- Full packing service – we professionally pack almost everything for you, usually the day before the move.
- Part packing – we handle fragile and bulky items; you pack the rest.
- Self packing – you pack your own boxes; we provide materials if required.
We advise how to label boxes, prepare appliances, and separate essentials so that unpacking at the new home is straightforward.
4. Loading & Transport
On moving day, our trained team arrives on time, runs through the plan with you, and then carefully loads the vehicle. Furniture is wrapped and protected; boxes are stacked and secured to prevent movement in transit. We use appropriate lifting techniques and equipment to protect both your belongings and our staff. We then transport everything directly to your new address using the safest, most efficient route.
5. Unloading & Placement
At the new property we unload room by room, placing items where you want them. We reassemble furniture we dismantled, position larger pieces, and ensure you can access essentials such as beds, sofas, and key kitchen items. Before we leave, we do a final check with you to confirm everything that should be moved has been moved and is in the right place.
Transparent, Fair Pricing
We believe in straightforward pricing with no unexpected extras. Your quotation is based on:
- Volume of goods to be moved (or property size as a guide).
- Distance between the collection and delivery addresses.
- Access and complexity – stairs, lifts, long carries, or awkward items.
- Services required – packing, dismantling/reassembly, materials supplied.
- Day and time – weekends, evenings and bank holidays can cost more.
We’ll always explain how the price is calculated and what could affect it, such as late key release or waiting time, so you can budget with confidence.
Why Choose Professional Removals Over DIY
Hiring a professional removals service offers clear advantages over doing it yourself or using an unqualified casual man-and-van:
- Safety – trained teams use proper lifting methods and equipment, reducing the risk of injury and damage.
- Efficiency – experienced movers load and unload faster and more securely.
- Protection – vehicles are equipped with blankets, straps and trolleys to protect your items and property.
- Insurance – you’re covered by our goods in transit insurance and public liability, which you won’t get with many casual operators.
- Peace of mind – you can focus on utilities, paperwork and family, while we handle the heavy work.
In many cases, once you factor in van hire, fuel, equipment and time off work, using a reputable removals company in West Hampstead represents solid value as well as reduced stress.
Insurance and Professional Standards
Your belongings and property are important to us, so we operate to clear professional standards:
- Goods in transit insurance to cover your items while they are being moved in our vehicles.
- Public liability cover for peace of mind at both properties.
- Trained moving teams who understand safe handling, packing, loading and basic furniture assembly.
- Regularly maintained vehicles, equipped with the right protection and securing equipment.
We’re happy to discuss cover limits and terms with you before you book so you understand exactly how you’re protected.
Caring for Your Belongings – and the Environment
We treat every move as if it were our own home being relocated. That means careful planning, protective materials, and respectful handling of both your belongings and the properties involved.
Our approach includes:
- Using clean, dry blankets, covers and floor protection where needed.
- Secure stacking and use of straps to prevent movement in transit.
- Careful navigation through narrow hallways and stairwells to avoid scuffs.
- Where possible, reusing quality cardboard boxes and recycling worn materials responsibly.
- Planning routes to minimise unnecessary mileage and fuel use.
We aim to balance a reliable removals service with a practical, more sustainable way of working.
Real-World Use Cases
Moving House Within West Hampstead
Typical moves include families upsizing from a flat off West End Lane to a house near Fortune Green, or downsizing to smaller, more manageable properties. We coordinate timing with your key collection, manage parking suspensions where necessary, and keep you updated throughout the day.
Office and Studio Relocations
Small businesses, therapists, creatives and consultants often move between serviced offices or shared workspaces around West Hampstead and nearby areas. We can move desks, filing cabinets, equipment and boxed files efficiently, often outside normal working hours to minimise disruption.
Urgent and Short-Notice Moves
Situations change quickly – tenancy issues, last-minute completions, or unexpected changes of plan. Subject to availability, we can often assist with same-day or next-day moves in West Hampstead and surrounding areas, prioritising essential items if time is tight.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a house removal in West Hampstead cost?
The cost depends on the volume of your belongings, access at each property, distance travelled and any extra services such as packing or furniture assembly. Smaller flat moves within West Hampstead are usually charged on a set hourly rate with a minimum booking, while larger house moves are often priced as a fixed quote. Once we understand your requirements and, if needed, complete a survey, we’ll provide a clear written quotation so you know exactly what you’ll pay, with no hidden extras.
Can you do same-day or urgent removals?
Yes, we can often help with same-day or short-notice removals in West Hampstead, depending on availability. If you need to move urgently, contact us as early as you can with your addresses, approximate volume and preferred times. We’ll check our schedule and advise what’s realistic, even if that means prioritising key items first and arranging a follow-up trip if required. Urgent moves may be subject to different rates, but we’ll always confirm costs before you commit.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. Your goods are covered by our goods in transit insurance while they’re being moved in our vehicles, and we also carry public liability cover for work at your addresses. This is designed to protect against the unlikely event of damage or loss while we’re handling your move. We’ll explain the key terms and limits when you book, and you can ask for details in writing if needed. For unusually high-value items, additional cover or special arrangements may be required.
What exactly is included in your removals service?
Our standard house removals service includes the vehicle, fuel, and a professional moving team to load, transport and unload your belongings between your old and new properties. We handle normal household contents, basic furniture dismantling and reassembly by prior agreement, and protection for your items inside the vehicle. Optional services such as full or partial packing, supply of boxes and materials, and more complex furniture assembly can be added. Your written quote will clearly list what is and isn’t included so there’s no confusion.
How is your service different from a basic man-and-van?
While we offer the flexibility of a man-and-van, our service is structured more like a professional removals company. That means trained staff, suitable vehicles with protective equipment, formal insurance cover, clear booking terms and written quotations. Casual man-and-van services may be cheaper on paper, but often lack insurance, experience and proper planning. We sit in the middle: more affordable and flexible than large national chains, but with higher standards, better protection and a more organised approach than basic man-and-van options.
How far in advance should I book my removal?
Ideally, you should book as soon as you have a confirmed moving date, particularly if you’re moving on a Friday, weekend, or at month-end, when availability is tighter. For most West Hampstead moves, one to three weeks’ notice is sensible. However, we understand that exchange and completion dates can change, so we try to remain flexible. If your plans are uncertain, we can pencil you in and confirm closer to the time, subject to availability. Short-notice moves are possible but cannot always be guaranteed.
Man and Van
Man and Van West Hampstead
Our Man and Van West Hampstead service is designed for people who want a reliable, well-organised move without the cost or hassle of a full-scale removals crew. As local removals professionals with years of hands-on experience in NW6 and the surrounding areas, we handle everything from single-item deliveries to full flat and small house moves with care, planning and attention to detail.
What Our Man and Van Service Includes
This service sits between a casual van hire and a full removals team. You get a modern, clean van and one or more trained movers who load, protect and transport your belongings safely. We work across West Hampstead, South Hampstead, Kilburn, Finchley Road and wider North West London.
Who Our Service Is For
- Homeowners moving between flats or smaller houses in and around West Hampstead
- Renters relocating between rented properties or into their first home
- Landlords needing quick clearances or furniture moves between properties
- Businesses moving small offices, stock, or equipment locally
- Students moving in or out of halls and shared houses around London
We tailor the number of movers and size of van to suit your job so you only pay for what you actually need.
Items We Can Move
Our man and van teams are equipped to move most household and light commercial items typically found in West Hampstead homes, flats and offices, including:
- Sofas, armchairs, beds and wardrobes
- Chests of drawers, bookcases and other furniture
- White goods such as fridges, freezers, washing machines (ground floor or lift access preferred)
- Boxes, suitcases, personal belongings and archive files
- IT equipment, printers, office desks and chairs
- TVs, hi-fi, artwork and mirrors (properly protected)
Items We Cannot Move
For safety, legal and insurance reasons, we cannot transport:
- Hazardous materials (fuel, gas cylinders, paint thinners, chemicals)
- Illegal items or anything not permitted by UK law
- Live animals (including pets and livestock)
- Unsealed food, especially frozen or chilled produce on longer journeys
- Industrial machinery or excessively heavy items beyond safe manual handling limits
- Large pianos or specialist items without prior agreement
If you are unsure about a particular item, ask us during your enquiry and we will advise on safe options.
Our Step-by-Step Man and Van Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
You can contact us by phone, email or online form. We will ask a few practical questions: property locations in West Hampstead or beyond, floor levels, lift access, parking situation, and a rough list of what needs moving. Based on this, we provide a clear, no-obligation quote, usually with an hourly rate and any minimum booking time explained upfront.
2. Survey – Virtual or Onsite
For straightforward small moves, photos or a video call are often enough. For busier flats, awkward staircases or office relocations, we may recommend a short onsite visit in West Hampstead or nearby. This helps us choose the right van size, number of movers and time slot, and reduces the risk of surprises on the day.
3. Packing & Preparation
You can do your own packing, or we can supply professional packing materials and a packing service if required. We advise that boxes are clearly labelled and not overfilled. Fragile items should be wrapped and marked. On the day, our team brings blankets, straps and trolleys, and we protect key pieces of furniture and doorways as needed to minimise scuffs and damage.
4. Loading & Transport
On moving day, we arrive within the agreed time window, wearing uniform and working efficiently but carefully. We plan loading so items are secure and protected. Our vans are equipped with blankets, straps and tools for basic furniture disassembly where agreed in advance. Once loaded, we travel directly to your new address, using routes that suit local West Hampstead traffic and restrictions.
5. Unloading & Placement
At your destination, we unload everything into the rooms you indicate, not just to the doorstep. We can reassemble any items we took apart, subject to agreement. Before leaving, we ask you to walk through and check that nothing is missing or damaged, and that you are happy with where items have been placed.
Local Expertise in West Hampstead
Operating daily in West Hampstead and NW6 gives us a practical advantage. We understand:
- How to manage parking suspensions and loading on busy streets like West End Lane and Finchley Road
- Typical flat layouts in mansion blocks and conversions
- Local traffic patterns and time restrictions for van access
- Lift sizes and staircases in many of the area’s buildings
This local knowledge means fewer surprises on the day, shorter loading times and a smoother overall move.
Transparent Pricing
We usually price our Man and Van West Hampstead service on an hourly basis, with a minimum booking period that reflects travel and set-up time. Your quote will clearly confirm:
- Hourly rate for the van and number of movers
- Minimum hours and what happens if the move runs over
- Any extra charges, such as congestion zone, parking costs or late-night work
There are no hidden extras. We advise you honestly on how long your move is likely to take, based on experience with similar properties and loads in West Hampstead.
Why Choose a Professional Man and Van Over DIY
Hiring a van yourself or using a casual driver may look cheaper, but it often leads to delays, damage, and extra stress. With our professional service you benefit from:
- Trained movers who know how to handle furniture and fragile items safely
- Efficient loading and unloading that usually shortens the total time
- Fully insured transport for your belongings
- Proper equipment – trolleys, blankets, straps and tools
- Reliable timekeeping and clear communication
This means you are less likely to injure yourself, damage a rented property, or spend all day doing something that could have been finished in a few hours with the right help.
Insurance & Professional Standards
We work to recognised industry standards to protect you and your belongings.
- Goods in transit insurance – covers your belongings while they are in our vehicle, subject to terms and conditions.
- Public liability cover – protects you and third parties in the rare event of accidental damage to property during the move.
- Trained moving teams – our crews are experienced, briefed on each job and follow safe lifting and handling practices.
We can provide proof of cover on request, and we are always open about what is and is not included, so you know exactly where you stand.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We treat every move with care, whether it is a single sofa or a full apartment. Floors, bannisters and doors are protected where necessary, and we handle fragile items with particular attention. We also aim to work sustainably by:
- Using reusable furniture blankets and durable packing materials
- Consolidating routes where possible to reduce unnecessary mileage
- Offering collection of used boxes for reuse when practical
Our goal is to move you efficiently while minimising waste and avoiding unnecessary damage to your properties.
Real-World Use Cases in West Hampstead
Moving House or Flat
Many of our clients are moving between one- or two-bedroom flats in West Hampstead, often with tight staircases and limited parking. Our man and van service is ideal for these moves – large enough to take your furniture and boxes in one or two trips, but flexible and cost-effective.
Office and Small Business Moves
We regularly help small offices, shops and self-employed professionals move equipment and stock locally. Whether you are relocating a few streets away or across North West London, we plan the move to minimise downtime and keep your business running.
Urgent or Same-Day Moves
Last-minute key changes, landlord requests or urgent clearance needs do happen. When our schedule allows, we offer same-day or short-notice man and van support in West Hampstead, providing a calm, organised response when you are under time pressure.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a man and van in West Hampstead cost?
Costs depend on the size of van, number of movers and how long the job takes. Most moves are charged by the hour with a minimum booking, plus any parking or congestion charges. For a typical one-bedroom flat move within West Hampstead, we will estimate the likely hours based on access, stairs and volume of items. We always confirm rates clearly in writing before you book, so you know exactly what to expect and can compare options fairly.
Can you do same-day or urgent man and van jobs?
Yes, when our schedule allows, we do offer same-day or short-notice moves in West Hampstead and the surrounding areas. Availability depends on existing bookings and the size of the job, so the earlier you call, the better. For urgent work we keep the process simple: a quick assessment over the phone or via photos, followed by a clear hourly rate and an arrival window. We then work efficiently to get you moved with as little disruption as possible.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. We provide goods in transit insurance that covers your belongings while they are on our vehicle, plus public liability cover for accidental damage to property. As with any insurance, there are limits and exclusions, such as pre-existing damage or poorly packed owner-packed boxes. We will explain these in plain language and can email policy details on request. If you have high-value or specialist items, let us know in advance so we can confirm appropriate cover and handling.
What is included in your man and van service?
Our standard man and van service includes the van, one or more trained movers, loading, transport and unloading to the rooms you specify. We bring blankets, straps and basic tools, and we protect furniture and property as needed. Packing, dismantling and reassembly can be included if agreed beforehand. Parking fees, congestion charge and disposal of unwanted items are not automatically included, but we are happy to quote for these separately so your total costs remain clear and predictable.
What is the difference between removals and man and van?
A full removals service usually involves a larger team, more planning, optional full packing and often a fixed-price quote for bigger moves. Our man and van service is aimed at smaller moves, often priced by the hour, and is more flexible and economical for flats, student moves or partial loads. You still benefit from professional movers and fully insured transport, but without paying for a larger crew or equipment you do not need. We will advise which option suits your situation best.
How far in advance should I book?
For weekend or month-end moves in West Hampstead, we recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks ahead to secure your preferred time. Midweek and off-peak slots can often be arranged with less notice. If you have a fixed completion date or tight handover times with landlords or agents, earlier booking is always safer. That said, we understand that plans can change quickly, so we always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests where our schedule allows.

Our Step-by-Step Removal Van Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
You contact us by phone or online with basic details: addresses, access, property size, dates and any special items. We ask clear, practical questions so we understand the job properly. Based on this, we provide a clear, no-obligation quote explaining what is included, any options, and our availability.
2. Survey (Virtual or Onsite)
For larger or more complex moves, we recommend a short survey. This can be virtual (video call and photos) or onsite in West Hampstead. The survey allows us to assess access, parking, staircases, lifts, and specific items such as pianos or large wardrobes, so we can allocate the right van size, crew and time.
3. Packing & Preparation
You can pack your own items, or choose our packing service. If we pack, we bring quality materials – boxes, tape, bubble wrap and paper – and label everything clearly. We dismantle agreed furniture where necessary and protect delicate or high-value items. Even on self-packed moves, we provide guidance to help you pack safely and efficiently.
4. Loading & Transport
On moving day, our trained team arrives on time, walks through the property with you, and plans the loading order. We use blankets, covers and straps to secure items. Vans are loaded systematically so goods are protected and unloading is straightforward. We then transport your belongings safely via the most suitable route, taking account of West Hampstead’s traffic and restrictions.
5. Unloading & Placement
At your new address, we unload items into the rooms you specify. Furniture that we dismantled as part of the service is reassembled as agreed. Before we leave, we check that everything has been unloaded, placed where you want it, and that you are satisfied with the condition of your belongings.
Transparent, Fair Pricing
We believe in straightforward pricing with no hidden extras. Our quotes are based on:
- Volume of goods and number of items
- Distance between properties
- Access issues (stairs, parking, long carries)
- Services required – such as packing or furniture dismantling
- Day and time (weekends or evenings if requested)
For smaller moves we may offer a set hourly rate with a minimum booking period; for larger moves we usually quote a fixed price. All costs are explained clearly in advance, so you know exactly what you are paying for and what is included.
Why Use a Professional Removal Van Service Instead of DIY?
Hiring a van and moving yourself can appear cheaper, but many people underestimate the time, effort and risk involved. A professional removal van service provides:
- Experienced movers who know how to protect and handle furniture and fragile items
- Proper equipment – blankets, straps, trolleys and tools
- Efficient use of space, often reducing the number of trips
- Lower risk of damage to both items and property
- No need to drive or park a large van in West Hampstead’s busy streets
With us, you are also covered by appropriate insurance, which you would not have with casual help or a simple self-drive hire.
Insurance and Professional Standards
Every move we undertake is backed by proper cover and professional working practices. We provide:
- Goods in transit insurance to protect your belongings while they are being moved
- Public liability cover for peace of mind on your premises
- Trained moving teams who follow safe lifting and handling procedures
We work to clearly defined standards: punctual arrival, respectful conduct in your home or workplace, careful handling of belongings and clear communication before, during and after your move.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We treat your possessions as if they were our own. Furniture is wrapped and protected, boxes are stacked sensibly, and fragile items are handled with particular care. We aim to minimise the risk of damage at every stage.
We also pay attention to our environmental impact. Wherever possible, we reuse strong boxes, minimise unnecessary journeys, and plan efficient routes. You are welcome to return reusable packing materials after your move so they can be used again rather than discarded.

Urgent and Short-Notice Moves
Last-minute completion dates, tenancy deadlines and urgent relocations are common in London. Subject to availability, we can often provide a same-day or next-day removal van in West Hampstead. We adjust the team size, van capacity and schedule to get you moved safely within the time available.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a removal van in West Hampstead cost?
Costs vary depending on the size of your move, distance, access and any additional services you require. Smaller flat or student moves may be charged on an hourly basis with a minimum booking period, while full house or office moves are usually priced as a fixed quote. To give an accurate figure, we’ll ask about property size, floor level, parking, and special items such as pianos or large wardrobes. All prices are confirmed in writing before you book, with no hidden surcharges added on the day.
Can you provide same-day or urgent removal van services?
Yes, subject to availability, we can often help with same-day or short-notice moves in West Hampstead. Urgent bookings are common when completion dates change unexpectedly or tenants need to vacate quickly. The more notice you can give, the better the chance of securing your ideal time slot, but it’s always worth calling us, even on the day. We’ll tell you honestly what we can do, what size team we can provide, and give a clear cost before you commit.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. Your goods are covered by our goods in transit insurance while they are being moved in our vehicles, and we also hold public liability cover. This provides protection in the unlikely event of accidental damage or an incident during the move. During the quotation process, we’ll explain the key terms and any limits so you know exactly what is covered. If you have particularly high-value items, please mention them so we can note them and advise on any additional precautions or cover.
What is included in your removal van service?
Our standard service includes a suitable removal van, trained movers, loading, safe transport and unloading into the rooms you choose. We supply blankets, straps and basic protection for furniture as part of the service. Optional extras include full or partial packing, supply of packing materials, dismantling and reassembly of furniture, and out-of-hours moves. During your enquiry, we’ll go through what you need and confirm exactly what is and isn’t included so there are no surprises on moving day.
How is a professional removal service different from a basic man-and-van?
A casual man-and-van is usually just a driver with a vehicle, often without formal training or proper insurance. Our service is a structured, professional removals operation with experienced teams, planning and insurance in place. We assess access, choose the right van size, protect your belongings, and manage the move from start to finish. You benefit from skilled loading, safer handling of heavy and fragile items, and clearer communication. In practice, this means fewer breakages, less stress, and a smoother overall experience.
How far in advance should I book my removal van?
For the best choice of dates and times, we recommend booking as soon as you have a confirmed moving date, especially if you are moving on a Friday, at month-end, or during summer. Many customers book two to four weeks ahead. That said, we understand that moves are not always confirmed early, so we also handle plenty of late bookings. Even if your date is provisional, it’s worth contacting us so we can pencil you in and discuss options if your plans change.
Removal Services
Removal Services West Hampstead – Man and Van West Hampstead
At Man and Van West Hampstead, we provide reliable, well-organised removal services for homes and businesses across West Hampstead and the surrounding North West London areas. With years of hands-on experience, we understand the realities of moving in London – tight stairwells, controlled parking zones, busy streets and strict time windows – and we plan every move around these challenges.
Professional Removal Services in West Hampstead
Our removal service is a complete, end-to-end solution. Whether you are moving a studio flat, a family home, a small office or just a few key items, we tailor our support to your move rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all package.
We combine the flexibility of a local man and van with the standards of a professional, fully insured removals company. That means clear communication, careful handling, punctual arrivals and properly equipped vehicles.
Who Our Removal Services Are For
Homeowners
From compact terraces to larger family homes, we manage full household removals, including bulky furniture, appliances and fragile items. We can also provide dismantling and reassembly where needed.
Renters
If you are moving between rented properties in West Hampstead or elsewhere in London, we offer cost-effective, efficient moves designed to minimise disruption and help you hand back your keys on time.
Landlords
We assist landlords with tenant changeover clearances, furniture moves between properties and partial removals when refreshing or refurnishing a rental unit.
Businesses
Our office and commercial removals cover small offices, clinics, studios and shops. We work to agreed schedules, including evenings or weekends where possible, to reduce downtime for your staff and customers.
Students
Students moving to or from West Hampstead halls or shared houses benefit from our smaller-load options. We move boxes, suitcases, desks, beds and personal items without unnecessary costs for a full-scale removal.
What Our Removal Services Include
Typical Items We Move
- Sofas, armchairs and living room furniture
- Beds, wardrobes, chests of drawers and bedside tables
- Dining tables, chairs and sideboards
- Kitchen appliances (fridges, freezers, washing machines, cookers)
- Office desks, chairs, filing cabinets and IT equipment
- Boxes of personal belongings, books, clothing and household items
- Televisions, audio systems and other electronics
- Bicycles, small gym equipment and hobby items
What We Cannot Move
For safety, legal and insurance reasons, we usually cannot transport:
- Hazardous materials (fuel, gas cylinders, chemicals, paint thinners)
- Illegal items or goods of uncertain ownership
- Live animals (including pets and livestock)
- Perishable food for long-distance moves
- Large quantities of cash, jewellery or high-value collectibles (we recommend you carry these personally where possible)
If you are unsure about any particular item, we are happy to advise before moving day.
Our Step-by-Step Removals Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
You contact us with your move details – addresses, approximate dates and a summary of what needs moving. We then provide a clear, no-obligation quote based on the information you give us. Where needed, we can discuss different options to fit your budget and timescale.
2. Survey – Virtual or Onsite
For larger or more complex moves, we carry out a short survey. This can be a video call or an in-person visit in West Hampstead. The survey helps us understand access, parking, number of rooms, special items (such as pianos or large wardrobes) and any dismantling required. This ensures we send the right vehicle, the right number of movers and the correct equipment.
3. Packing & Preparation
We offer both full packing and part-packing services, as well as a transport-only option if you prefer to pack yourself. Where we pack, our trained team use appropriate materials, wrapping fragile items, protecting furniture and clearly labelling boxes by room so that everything is easier to unpack at the new address.
4. Loading & Transport
On moving day, our team arrive on time, protect floors and key areas where necessary, and load your items systematically. Furniture is wrapped or covered as needed, and everything is secured properly in the van. Our vehicles are regularly maintained and equipped with blankets, straps and trolleys. We then transport your belongings directly to the new property unless we have agreed a different arrangement.
5. Unloading & Placement
At the destination, we unload and place items into the rooms you specify. Larger items can be reassembled where this has been agreed in advance. Before leaving, we check that all listed items have been delivered and placed to your satisfaction.
Transparent Pricing for Removal Services
We believe in clear, straightforward pricing. Our quotes are typically based on:
- Volume of goods (size of property, number of rooms or inventory list)
- Distance between the collection and delivery addresses
- Number of movers required
- Whether packing materials and packing services are included
- Any special handling (e.g. piano, oversized items, difficult access)
We explain exactly what is included before you book, so you know what to expect. There are no hidden call-out fees, and any potential additional costs (such as congestion charges or parking fees) are discussed openly.
Why Choose Professional Removals Over DIY
Hiring a professional removals team is often more cost-effective and far less stressful than arranging a DIY move or relying on a casual man-with-a-van.
- Safety and protection: Correct lifting techniques, proper equipment and protective materials reduce the risk of damage or injury.
- Time savings: Experienced movers load and unload far more efficiently, helping you settle in quicker.
- Reliability: Confirmed bookings, written terms and insured services offer peace of mind.
- Planning and coordination: We help with timings, access and parking, which is critical in West Hampstead’s busy streets.
Insurance and Professional Standards
Man and Van West Hampstead operates to clear professional standards. We are:
- Fully insured with goods in transit cover for your belongings while they are in our care
- Protected by public liability insurance for work carried out on your premises
- Staffed by trained and experienced movers who handle items with care
We can outline our insurance cover in more detail on request and advise on any items that may require additional specialist cover.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We handle every move as if it were our own property being transported. Furniture is wrapped or covered, and fragile items are carefully packed to reduce the risk of damage. We aim to minimise waste by:
- Reusing sturdy packing materials where appropriate
- Offering reusable crates for some moves
- Planning routes efficiently to limit unnecessary mileage
- Encouraging clients to recycle or donate unwanted items rather than sending them to landfill
Real-World Use Cases in West Hampstead
Moving House Locally
A family moving from a flat off West End Lane to a nearby house might need a full packing service, dismantling of wardrobes and beds, and careful handling of children’s belongings. We plan the move around school runs and local parking restrictions.
Office Relocation
A small firm relocating from a serviced office in West Hampstead to a larger space elsewhere in London may require evening or weekend work, IT equipment handling and coordinated moves across several days. We work with you to create a move plan that keeps your business functioning.
Urgent or Short-Notice Moves
Sometimes moves happen quickly – a tenancy ending sooner than expected, a last-minute completion date or an urgent clearance requirement. Where we have availability, we offer same-day or next-day removal services in West Hampstead and nearby areas, providing calm, structured support when time is tight.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do your removal services in West Hampstead cost?
Costs depend on the size of your move, distance, access and whether you require packing services. Smaller flat moves within West Hampstead are typically charged on a set hourly rate, while larger house or office moves are often priced as a fixed quote following a survey. We always provide a clear written breakdown so you know exactly what is included. To get an accurate figure, share as much detail as you can about your property, inventory and timings when you request a quote.
Can you provide same-day or urgent removals?
Where our schedule allows, we do offer same-day and next-day removals in West Hampstead and the surrounding areas. Availability will depend on the size of the move, vehicle requirements and how quickly we can arrange access and parking. For urgent moves, it helps if you already have items packed and a flexible time window. Contact us by phone for the quickest response, and we will confirm what is realistic and agree a clear plan before you commit.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. We provide goods in transit insurance for items we are transporting, as well as public liability cover for work carried out on your premises. This is designed to protect you in the unlikely event of an accident or damage directly caused by our team. There may be limits and exclusions, particularly for very high-value or delicate items, so we always recommend discussing anything unusual in advance so we can advise on the best approach and any extra protection required.
What is included in your removals service as standard?
As standard, our service includes a suitable vehicle, a trained moving team, loading, safe transport and unloading at your new address. We bring blankets, straps and basic protective materials. Additional services such as full packing, supplying boxes, dismantling and reassembly of furniture, and disposal or clearance can be added as required. We confirm exactly what is and is not included in writing before you book, so there are no surprises on the day. If you have specific requirements, simply let us know during the quotation stage.
How is a professional removals service different from a basic man-and-van?
A casual man-and-van may work for very small, simple jobs, but a professional removals service offers more structure and security. You get a confirmed booking, written terms, insurance cover, appropriate vehicles, protective equipment and an experienced team used to handling full house and office moves. We plan routes, timings, access and parking in advance, and can provide packing and dismantling support. This reduces the risk of delays, damage or last-minute cancellations and usually makes the whole move smoother and less stressful.
How far in advance should I book my removal in West Hampstead?
For peak times (Fridays, weekends and month-end), we recommend booking at least two to three weeks in advance, especially for larger properties. If you are waiting on exchange or completion dates, we can pencil in a provisional slot and confirm once your timeline is fixed. For smaller or local moves, we can sometimes accommodate bookings with only a few days’ notice. The earlier you contact us, the more flexibility we will have to offer you your preferred date and time.

Who Our Storage Service Is For
Homeowners

Renters
If your new tenancy start date doesn’t line up with your current one, or you’re relocating temporarily, we offer short and medium-term storage with flexible access options. We frequently assist tenants in West Hampstead with gap periods of a few days to several months.
Landlords
We help landlords store furniture and appliances during refurbishments or changeovers. Old items can be stored while you decide what to reuse or replace, helping keep your property clear for contractors and viewings.
Businesses
Our business storage supports offices, retailers and trades. Store surplus furniture, archive files, exhibition stands, stock, tools and equipment. We can coordinate collections and redeliveries outside your busiest hours to minimise disruption.

What You Can Store With Us
We can safely store most household and business items, including:
- Sofas, beds, wardrobes and other large furniture
- Boxes of clothes, books, toys and personal belongings
- Kitchen appliances and white goods (clean and defrosted)
- Office desks, chairs, filing cabinets and archive boxes
- Retail stock, exhibition materials and marketing displays

- Flammable, explosive or hazardous materials (e.g. fuel, paints, gas bottles, chemicals)
- Illegal items or anything obtained unlawfully
- Live animals or any living creature
- Cash, jewellery or very high-value collectibles without prior written agreement
- Items that are damp, infested or likely to cause damage to other goods
How Our Storage Process Works
1. Enquiry & Quote
You contact our West Hampstead office with a brief description of what you need to store and for how long. We ask a few questions about volume, access and timing, then provide a clear, itemised quotation with no hidden extras.
2. Survey (Virtual or Onsite)
For larger or more complex jobs, we arrange a quick virtual or onsite survey. This allows us to judge the volume accurately, plan parking and access in West Hampstead, and advise on the most suitable storage option and packing approach.
3. Packing & Preparation
You can pack your own boxes, or choose our professional packing service. Our team can supply quality boxes, wrapping paper and tape, and carefully wrap fragile items, furniture and electronics. Everything is clearly labelled so it’s easy to identify and retrieve later.
4. Loading & Transport
On collection day, our trained team arrives on time, protects floors and bannisters where needed, and loads your items securely onto our vehicles. We use blankets, straps and padding to keep everything stable during transport from your West Hampstead address to our storage facility.
5. Unloading, Storage & Final Delivery
At the facility, your goods are unloaded, stacked safely and placed into your allocated unit or section. When you’re ready for your items back, we arrange a convenient delivery window, return them to your new or existing address, and place furniture in the rooms you specify.
Transparent Storage Pricing
We believe in clear, straightforward pricing. Your quote typically includes:
- Collection from your West Hampstead property or business
- Transport to the storage facility
- Weekly or monthly storage charges, based on space used
- Redelivery from storage to your chosen address
Costs depend mainly on the amount of space required, the duration of storage and access needs. We explain all options in advance so you can choose the most cost-effective arrangement. There are no surprise fees for standard handling or basic protection materials.
Why Use Professional Storage Instead of Doing It Yourself?
Hiring a professional removals and storage company offers real advantages over hiring a van and using a casual lock-up or self-storage:
- Safer handling – experienced movers reduce the risk of damage and injury.
- Fully insured transport and storage rather than relying on limited DIY cover.
- No need to drive large vans around busy West Hampstead streets or manage awkward parking.
- Correct wrapping, stacking and protection, so items come out in the same condition they went in.
- Time-saving – our team does the heavy lifting while you focus on the move or project.
Insurance and Professional Standards
As an established removals and storage company, we take protection seriously. We carry:
- Goods in transit insurance covering your belongings while being moved between your property and the storage facility.
- Public liability cover for work in and around your home, building or business premises.
- Trained moving teams who follow proven handling and lifting techniques.
Full details of cover levels and any exclusions are available on request, and we’re always happy to discuss additional cover for particularly high-value or specialist items.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We treat your belongings as if they were our own. Furniture is wrapped and protected, fragile items are carefully boxed and labelled, and loads are secured to avoid movement. In storage, items are stacked to prevent crushing and allow for safe access.
Where possible, we use reusable protective materials and responsibly sourced cartons. We reuse boxes when suitable and recycle damaged materials, aiming to keep waste to a minimum while still providing reliable protection.
Typical Storage Use Cases in West Hampstead
Moving House
Chain delays are common, and dates don’t always line up. Our storage bridges the gap between completion and moving in, keeping everything safe until your new property is ready.
Office and Commercial Moves
Businesses often need to phase relocations or refurbishments. We can store furniture, equipment and files while contractors work, then return them in stages to suit your schedule.
Renovations and Refurbs
Clearing rooms completely gives builders proper access and protects your belongings from dust and accidental damage. We remove and store contents, then bring them back once the work is complete.
Urgent or Last-Minute Moves
If you need to be out quickly due to a sale, tenancy issue or other change of plan, we can often arrange rapid collection and short-notice storage, giving you breathing space to sort out your next steps.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does storage with Man and Van West Hampstead cost?
Costs depend on how much space you need, how long you store for and whether you require collection and redelivery. We typically charge a fixed fee for collection and transport, plus a weekly or monthly storage rate based on volume. Because we survey the job in advance, we can give a clear, itemised quotation with no hidden extras. Smaller student or single-room jobs are often surprisingly affordable compared with hiring a van and a separate unit.
Can you provide same-day or urgent storage in West Hampstead?
Where our schedule allows, we can offer same-day or next-day storage for urgent situations such as sudden tenancy changes, chain collapses or emergency works. Call us as early as possible and we’ll confirm availability, vehicle sizes and team options. Even when we’re busy, we’ll do our best to offer a practical solution, such as partial same-day collection or a temporary arrangement until full storage can be organised.
Are my belongings insured while in storage?
Yes. Your goods are covered by our goods in transit insurance while being moved and by our storage insurance while in the facility, subject to policy terms and declared values. We also hold public liability cover for work at your property. We’ll explain the main conditions in clear language and can advise if any items need additional or specialist cover. You are also welcome to supplement our cover with your own policy if you prefer.
What is included in your storage service?
Our standard service includes collection from your property, loading by our professional team, transport to the storage facility, secure storage in a clean, dry environment and redelivery at the end of the term. We provide basic protective materials such as blankets and wrapping for furniture. Optional extras include full packing services, supply of boxes and specialised packing for delicate or high-value items. We’ll tailor the service to match your situation and budget.
How is your service different from a basic man-and-van or self-storage?
With us, you get a combined removals and storage solution managed end-to-end by one professional team. We handle packing (if required), lifting, loading, transport, stacking in storage and redelivery, all under fully insured cover. A basic man-and-van often leaves you to arrange your own unit, do more of the lifting and deal with limited or no insurance. Self-storage can work if you have time, transport and experience, but most people find our managed approach safer and less stressful.
How far in advance should I book storage?
For planned moves, a week or two’s notice is ideal, especially during busy periods such as month-end and summer. This gives us time to survey if needed and reserve the right amount of space. However, we regularly accommodate shorter-notice bookings and can often help within a few days. If your dates are uncertain, we can pencil you in and adjust as things firm up, keeping communication clear so you always know what to expect.

Who Our Packing & Boxes Service Is For
Homeowners
If you’re moving house in or out of West Hampstead, our full packing or part packing options can save you days of work. We carefully pack room by room, label every box clearly, and create a logical system so unpacking at your new property is straightforward.
Renters
Flats in West Hampstead often involve stairs, tight hallways and limited parking. We’ll pack your belongings securely and in sensible sizes for easy lifting, helping you avoid damage charges when you hand the property back to your landlord.
Landlords
We work with landlords who need clear‑out and packing support between tenancies. We can pack and store, or pack and remove, previous tenants’ belongings (subject to instruction) and prepare the property quickly for new occupants.
Businesses
Local offices, shops and studios rely on us for commercial packing. We pack IT equipment, files, stock and furniture in a structured way so you can get up and running again with minimal downtime. We also offer out‑of‑hours and weekend packing for businesses in West Hampstead.
Students
Students moving to or from halls and rented rooms often need help with small‑move packing. We provide affordable boxes, bubble wrap and a quick packing service ideal for term‑time or end‑of‑year moves.

Typical Items We Pack
- Household goods – kitchenware, ornaments, books, clothing and linens
- Furniture – disassembly, protection and wrapping where required
- Electronics – TVs, computers, monitors, printers and audio equipment
- Office contents – files, folders, stationery, desktop equipment
- Art and fragile items – pictures, mirrors, ceramics and glassware
- Loft, garage and storage items – boxed, labelled and consolidated
What’s Excluded or Needs Special Handling
For safety and insurance reasons, some items are excluded from our standard packing service or must follow specific guidelines:
- Hazardous materials – paint, solvents, gas bottles, chemicals and flammables
- Perishable food – frozen and fresh items should be moved by you where possible
- High‑value jewellery, cash and important documents – best kept with you
- Pets and live plants – we can advise, but do not pack or transport animals
If you have anything unusual or high‑value, let us know during your enquiry so we can plan suitable packing and protection.
Our Step‑by‑Step Packing and Moving Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
Contact Man and Van West Hampstead by phone or online with your move details. We’ll ask about property size, volume of belongings, access and timings. Based on this, we provide a clear, no‑obligation quote for packing and boxes, with or without transport.
2. Survey (Virtual or Onsite)
For larger moves, we recommend a quick survey. This can be done virtually (video call and photos) or in person at your West Hampstead property. The survey allows us to estimate the number and size of boxes, special packing requirements and the right size of vehicle and team.
3. Packing & Preparation
On the agreed day, our professional packers arrive with all necessary materials. We usually start with less‑used rooms and work systematically. Fragile items are wrapped and boxed separately, furniture is protected with covers and blankets, and everything is labelled by room and contents. If you prefer, we can also supply materials for you to self‑pack.
4. Loading & Transport
Once packed, our removals team loads your goods carefully onto our vehicles. Boxes are stacked to avoid crushing, and fragile items are secured. Your belongings are then transported directly to your new address in or out of West Hampstead, under our goods in transit insurance cover.
5. Unloading & Placement
At your destination, we unload each box and place it in the correct room according to the labels. Larger furniture is positioned where you want it, and we remove used packing materials we’ve supplied. On request, we can also offer an unpacking service, placing items into cupboards and wardrobes for a fully hands‑off move.
Transparent Pricing for Packing and Boxes
We believe in clear, upfront pricing. Our charges are typically based on:
- Property size and estimated volume of contents
- Level of service – full packing, part packing, or materials only
- Number of packers required and time on site
- Any special packing (antiques, artwork, oversized items)
We’ll outline all costs in writing before you commit. There are no hidden fees for standard materials like boxes, tape and bubble wrap when included in a packing service. If you only need boxes and supplies, we can provide a straightforward price list for materials and delivery in West Hampstead.
Why Choose Professional Packing Over DIY
Many people start packing themselves and quickly realise how time‑consuming and physically demanding it can be. Using a professional packing service offers several advantages:
- Speed – experienced packers can complete in hours what may take you days.
- Protection – correct materials and techniques reduce breakages and claims.
- Organisation – clear labelling and logical grouping make unpacking easier.
- Safety – fewer heavy lifts and less risk of injury to you and your family.
Compared with a casual man‑and‑van who may turn up with a few reused boxes and blankets, our dedicated packing service in West Hampstead is structured, insured and accountable.
Insurance and Professional Standards
As a responsible removals company, we operate to high standards of care and compliance:
- Goods in transit insurance to protect your belongings while they are being moved.
- Public liability cover for peace of mind in case of accidental damage to property.
- Trained moving teams who understand safe handling, packing methods and manual handling regulations.
We keep detailed inventories for fully packed moves and encourage customers to highlight any particularly valuable or delicate items so we can apply extra protection and note them for insurance purposes.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We pack as if everything belongs to us. Corners and vulnerable edges are protected, boxes are never overloaded, and heavier items go at the bottom. For furniture and delicate surfaces, we use padded covers, blankets and specialist wrapping.
Sustainability is important to us. Where possible, we use recyclable cardboard boxes and paper, and we encourage box reuse. For local West Hampstead moves, we can often collect our used cartons for recycling or re‑use, reducing waste and keeping the environmental impact of your move down.
Real‑World Use Cases in West Hampstead
Moving House
Families and professionals moving within West Hampstead benefit from a fully managed service. We typically pack one day and move the next, keeping disruption to a minimum and ensuring your possessions travel safely door to door.
Office Relocation
For businesses, we often pack outside normal working hours to avoid interrupting your operations. Computer equipment is packed in anti‑static or padded materials, while files are boxed in order so they can be re‑shelved quickly at your new office.
Urgent or Short‑Notice Moves
Sometimes you have to move quickly – a last‑minute completion date, unexpected tenancy change or emergency situation. Subject to availability, we can provide same‑day or next‑day packing and boxes in West Hampstead, focusing on prioritising essentials and fragile items first.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does your packing and boxes service cost?
The cost depends on the size of your property, how much you need us to pack and whether you also require transport. For example, a small flat in West Hampstead with part packing will typically cost less than a full packing service for a large family home. We price based on the estimated number of boxes, time on site and any special packing needs. After a short discussion or survey, we’ll provide a clear written quote so you know exactly what to budget for.
Can you provide same‑day or urgent packing in West Hampstead?
In many cases we can help at short notice, especially for smaller moves or where you mainly need boxes and basic packing support. Availability depends on our schedule and the size of the job, but we always try to accommodate urgent requests in West Hampstead. If we can’t offer a full packing service on the same day, we may still be able to deliver materials and provide limited assistance with fragile or high‑priority items. Contact us as early as possible to discuss options.
Are my belongings insured while you pack and move them?
Yes. When we are responsible for packing and transporting your goods, they are covered by our goods in transit insurance, subject to our terms and conditions. We also hold public liability cover for added peace of mind. We’ll explain what is and isn’t covered before you book, and we ask you to inform us about particularly high‑value or unusual items so we can record them appropriately. If you self‑pack, our cover may be more limited, so we always recommend using our professional packing service where possible.
What exactly is included in your packing and boxes service?
Our standard service can include the supply of quality boxes, tape, paper and bubble wrap, plus a trained team to pack your belongings safely. We work room by room, label every box and protect furniture and fragile items. We can also disassemble basic furniture and prepare appliances for transport where practical. At the other end, we unload into the correct rooms and remove used packing materials we’ve supplied. You can choose from full packing, part packing (for fragile or specific rooms) or materials‑only, depending on your needs and budget.
How is your service different from a basic man‑and‑van?
A casual man‑and‑van typically focuses on loading and driving, with limited packing support and often no formal insurance or training. Our service in West Hampstead is a complete, structured removals solution. We provide professional packers, quality materials, detailed labelling and careful loading, all backed by appropriate insurance cover. We plan your move in advance, carry out surveys where needed and offer aftercare such as unpacking and box collection. This means fewer breakages, less stress and a far smoother experience overall.
How far in advance should I book packing and boxes?
For best availability, especially at busy times like month‑end and summer, we recommend booking your packing service 2–4 weeks before your move date. This gives us time to carry out a survey if required and secure the right team. However, we understand that dates can change, particularly with property chains, so we always try to remain flexible. If your move is sooner, contact us anyway – we often have capacity for smaller or local West Hampstead jobs at shorter notice.

You contact us with your move details – current and new addresses, rough inventory, dates and any building restrictions. We provide a clear, no-obligation quote explaining what is included, our availability, and any options such as packing or out-of-hours work.
2. Survey (Virtual or Onsite)
For office removals, we strongly recommend a survey. This may be a video call walk-through or an onsite visit for larger or more complex moves. We assess access, stairs or lifts, parking, IT equipment, furniture size and any dismantling required. This allows us to allocate the right team, vehicles and protective materials.
3. Packing & Preparation
On the day (or beforehand if arranged), our trained team can provide:
- Full packing service for files, IT and general contents
- Part-packing for fragile or high-risk items only
- Supply of crates, boxes, labels and packing materials
- Dismantling of desks and furniture where needed
We label crates and items clearly to match your new office layout, helping you get back to work quickly.
4. Loading & Transport
We protect floors, walls and lifts as required, then load your items systematically onto our vehicles, using blankets, straps and covers to prevent damage. Your goods are covered by our goods in transit insurance. We then transport everything directly to your new West Hampstead location or beyond, following the agreed schedule.
5. Unloading & Placement
At your new office, we unload and place items according to your plan – for example, by department, room or team. We reassemble desks and furniture we have dismantled and position equipment where you need it. We can also consolidate used packing materials for reuse or recycling.
Transparent Pricing for Office Removals
We price office removals fairly and transparently, based on:
- Volume and type of furniture and equipment
- Number of staff and vehicles required
- Distance between addresses
- Access complexity (stairs, lifts, parking)
- Additional services such as packing, dismantling or storage
- Out-of-hours or weekend scheduling
All costs are explained clearly in your written quote, with no hidden extras. If your requirements change (for example, you add more furniture), we will discuss any price adjustments in advance so you stay in control of your budget.
Why Choose Professional Office Removals Over DIY
While it can be tempting to hire a casual van or ask staff to move items themselves, office relocations involve risks that can be costly if not managed properly. A professional removals team offers:
- Reduced downtime through planning and efficient handling
- Proper protection for IT, furniture and premises
- Fully insured cover if something goes wrong
- Trained staff used to handling heavy and awkward items safely
- Compliance with building rules and health & safety
DIY moves often end up taking longer, increasing stress on your team and risking damage or injury. Professional removals help you focus on running your business.
Insurance and Professional Standards
As a reputable removals company, we operate to high standards on every job:
- Goods in transit insurance – covers your items while they are in our vehicles.
- Public liability insurance – covers accidental damage to buildings or third parties.
- Trained moving teams – experienced staff, briefed on your specific move.
- Clean, well-maintained vehicles with appropriate securing equipment.
- Clear communication before, during and after your move.
We are committed to handling your office contents with the same care we would give our own equipment.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
We place strong emphasis on protecting both your belongings and the environment. Our team uses padded covers, floor protectors and secure strapping on every move. Where possible, we use reusable crates, blankets and durable protection rather than single-use plastics. Cardboard, paper and other materials are separated for recycling whenever we can.
We also plan routes sensibly to reduce unnecessary mileage and emissions, especially on regular routes around West Hampstead and neighbouring areas.
Real-World Use Cases
Moving a Growing Business
A small firm expanding into a larger office needs a move carried out over a weekend with everything ready for Monday morning. We plan a phased move, pack IT on Friday evening, relocate furniture on Saturday and complete setup on Sunday.
Internal Office Reconfiguration
A company changing its layout needs desks, meeting tables and storage units shifted between floors. We work closely with building management, using lifts carefully and protecting communal areas.
Urgent or Short-Notice Moves
Sometimes leases end early or unexpected issues arise. When our schedule allows, we offer same-day or short-notice office removals in West Hampstead, focusing on core essentials first so you can remain operational.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do office removals in West Hampstead cost?
The cost depends on the size of your office, the amount of furniture and equipment, access at both addresses, and the distance involved. Smaller offices or single-room moves may be charged on a fixed-price or hourly basis, while larger relocations are usually quoted after a survey. Additional services such as packing, crate hire and out-of-hours working will also affect the price. We always provide a clear, itemised quote before you book so you know exactly what you are paying for.
Can you handle same-day or urgent office moves?
Where our schedule allows, we can assist with same-day or urgent office removals in West Hampstead. Availability will depend on the size of the move and how many teams we already have booked. For small or medium offices, we can often react quickly, focusing first on essential desks and IT so you can keep working. For larger moves, we will advise honestly what is realistic within your timeframe and may suggest a phased approach to minimise disruption.
What insurance cover do you provide during an office move?
Your items are protected by our goods in transit insurance while they are being transported, and we carry public liability insurance for damage to buildings or third parties. This cover sits alongside our careful handling and packing procedures. During your enquiry and survey, we will explain the key terms, any limits, and how they apply to high-value items or specialist equipment. If you have particularly valuable or sensitive items, you may also wish to check your own business insurance for additional peace of mind.
What is included in your office removals service?
Our standard service includes loading, transport and unloading of your office furniture, equipment and packed contents between addresses. We also provide protective materials such as blankets and straps as standard. Optional extras include full or partial packing, crate and box supply, dismantling and reassembly of desks, and out-of-hours or weekend moves. During your quote and survey, we agree exactly what is included so there is no confusion on the day and you receive the level of support you need.
How is a professional office removal different from a basic man-and-van?
A basic man-and-van service usually offers transport only, with limited planning and often without full insurance or trained staff. A professional office removal is more structured: we carry out a survey, plan access and logistics, use specialist protection, and deploy a skilled team familiar with office environments. We work around your business hours, coordinate with building management and focus on minimising downtime. For anything beyond a very small office, this professional approach is usually safer, more efficient and better value overall.
How far in advance should I book my office removal?
For most office moves, we recommend booking at least two to four weeks in advance, especially if you need a specific date or weekend slot. Larger or more complex relocations benefit from even more notice so we can carry out detailed planning and surveys. That said, we understand that circumstances change and leases can end unexpectedly; if you need to move sooner, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you within our existing schedule.

- Fully insured service, including goods in transit and public liability cover

- Lift access, stairwells and tight corridors in period conversions and purpose-built blocks

Who Our Man with a Van Service Is For
Homeowners
Ideal for smaller house moves, partial moves, or when you are taking specific items to storage. We carefully protect furniture, appliances and personal belongings, and can undertake multiple trips locally if needed.
Renters
Flats and house shares often suit a man and van move. We are used to top-floor flats, tight staircases and limited parking. We can move you efficiently between rented properties, minimising disruption and avoiding damage that might affect your deposit.
Landlords
We regularly assist landlords with furnished property moves, furniture swaps, and end-of-tenancy clearances. We can remove unwanted items, deliver replacement furniture, and organise timed slots between tenancies.
Businesses
Small offices, studios and shops in West Hampstead use our man with a van service for light office relocations, equipment moves and deliveries. We can work outside normal trading hours to reduce downtime.
Students
For students moving into or out of halls and shared accommodation, a man and van is the most cost-effective option. We move clothes, books, small furniture, bikes and tech safely between West Hampstead and campuses across London.
What We Can Move
Included Items
We routinely move:
- Domestic furniture: beds, sofas, wardrobes, tables, chairs, shelving
- Boxes of personal belongings, books, clothes and household items
- Kitchen appliances and white goods (where access and connections allow)
- Office desks, chairs, filing cabinets, computers and peripherals
- Student belongings, luggage and small storage items
- Musical instruments, artwork and mirrors (with appropriate protection)
Excluded or Restricted Items
For safety, legal and insurance reasons, we cannot carry:
- Hazardous materials (fuel, gas bottles, chemicals, paint thinners)
- Illegal items or anything prohibited by UK law
- Livestock or pets (we can advise on specialist pet transport)
- Industrial machinery requiring specialist handling
- Large pianos or very heavy safes without prior agreement and survey
If you are unsure whether an item is suitable, mention it in your enquiry and we will confirm what is possible or recommend alternatives.
How Our Man with a Van Process Works
1. Enquiry & Quote
Contact us by phone, email or online form with basic details: addresses, dates, access, and an outline of items. We provide a clear, no-obligation quotation based on your description and timings. For straightforward jobs, we can often quote immediately.
2. Survey (Virtual or Onsite)
For larger or more complex moves, we may suggest a short video call or onsite visit. This allows us to assess access, parking, staircases and item volumes accurately. A proper survey ensures we send the right size van, the right number of movers, and enough time on the day.
3. Packing & Preparation
You can pack your own items, or ask about our packing service for a more complete solution. We advise clients to use strong boxes, avoid overfilling, and label contents and rooms clearly. On moving day, we protect furniture with blankets and wraps, and can dismantle simple items as agreed.
4. Loading & Transport
Our trained team loads your belongings systematically, securing items to minimise movement in transit. We use trolleys, skates and lifting straps where needed. Once loaded, we travel by the most appropriate route, keeping you informed of any unexpected delays.
5. Unloading & Placement
On arrival, we unload into the rooms you specify, placing furniture where you want it and stacking boxes sensibly for easy unpacking. We can reassemble basic furniture where agreed in advance. Before we leave, we check that everything is unloaded and placed as required.
Transparent Pricing
We believe in straightforward, transparent pricing. Our man with a van service is typically priced on an hourly basis, with a minimum booking period depending on the size of van and number of movers required. The rate is agreed in advance and confirmed in writing.
Your quote will clearly state:
- Number of movers and size of vehicle
- Hourly rate or fixed price (where applicable)
- Any travel or congestion charges, if relevant
- Optional extras such as packing materials or packing services
There are no hidden fees, and any changes (for example, additional stops or significantly increased volumes) are discussed with you before work continues.
Why Choose a Professional Man with a Van Over DIY
Hiring a professional removals company for your man with a van job gives you several advantages over doing it yourself or using an informal operator:
- Safety: Proper lifting techniques and equipment reduce the risk of injury and damage.
- Insurance: Your belongings are covered by our goods in transit insurance, and we hold public liability cover.
- Efficiency: Experienced movers complete jobs faster and with fewer problems.
- Reliability: Confirmed bookings, arrival windows and a dedicated office team for support.
- Accountability: As a registered business, we stand behind our work and reputation in West Hampstead.
Insurance and Professional Standards
We take our responsibilities seriously and operate to clear professional standards:
- Goods in transit insurance to protect your items during loading, transport and unloading
- Public liability insurance in case of accidental damage to property or third parties
- Trained moving teams who understand correct lifting, packing and securing methods
- Regular maintenance and safety checks on all vehicles and equipment
Policy details and limits are available on request, and we are happy to clarify how cover applies to your specific move.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
Our approach balances careful handling with responsible working practices:
- Use of padded blankets, mattress covers and protective wrap where appropriate
- Careful handling in communal areas to avoid damage to walls, floors and doors
- Reusable crates and durable packing materials where possible to reduce waste
- Thoughtful route planning to minimise unnecessary mileage
- Recycling or responsible disposal options for unwanted items, by arrangement
We aim to leave both your old and new properties clean, tidy and free from packaging clutter.
Real-World Uses of Our Man with a Van Service

Office and Studio Relocations
From small offices to creative studios, we move desks, IT equipment, stock and archive boxes efficiently, with minimal disruption to your business.
Urgent and Same-Day Moves
When plans change unexpectedly, we do our best to offer same-day or next-day support, subject to availability. This can be invaluable for emergency moves, last-minute key exchanges or urgent deliveries.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a man with a van in West Hampstead cost?
Costs depend on the size of van, number of movers, distance and time required. Most local man and van jobs are charged by the hour with a minimum booking period. To keep costs down, have items packed and ready, and provide clear access and parking information. Once we know your addresses, inventory and preferred date, we give a firm quotation with no hidden extras, so you know exactly what to budget for before you commit.
Can you provide same-day or urgent man with a van bookings?
Yes, we can often accommodate same-day or urgent moves in West Hampstead, especially on weekdays, but it depends on our existing schedule. The earlier you contact us, the better the chance we can help. When you call, have your addresses, rough inventory and preferred time ready so we can assess availability quickly. For urgent moves, we prioritise clear communication and realistic arrival windows so you can plan around us with confidence.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. Our service includes goods in transit insurance, which covers your belongings while they are being loaded, transported and unloaded, subject to policy terms. We also hold public liability insurance for peace of mind in case of accidental damage to buildings or third parties. We always recommend that high-value or unusual items are highlighted in advance, so we can confirm cover and advise on any additional precautions or documentation that may be appropriate.
What is included in your man with a van service?
Our standard service includes a suitable van, one or more trained movers, protective blankets, basic tools for simple furniture disassembly, and transport between agreed addresses. We load, secure, transport and unload items into the rooms you specify. Optional extras include packing materials, full or part packing services, furniture assembly and additional stops. All inclusions and exclusions are clearly listed in your written quote so you know exactly what is covered on the day.
What is the difference between removals and a man with a van?
A full removals service is generally suited to larger house or office moves and can include detailed planning, comprehensive packing, multiple vehicles and a larger crew. A man with a van is more flexible and cost-effective for smaller moves, partial moves, single items or short distances. With us, both services are delivered by the same professional, insured team; the difference is the scale and level of support you choose, based on your needs and budget.
How far in advance should I book?
For best availability, especially at weekends and month-end, booking one to two weeks in advance is sensible. However, we understand that smaller moves can be more last-minute. If your dates are flexible, we can often find space at shorter notice. As soon as you know roughly when you need to move, contact us; we can provisionally hold a slot while details are confirmed, and advise on quieter times that may offer better choice or value.

- Clothing, books, kitchenware and personal items
- Office desks, chairs, filing cabinets and boxed documents

- Illegal items or anything that breaches regulations
- Large commercial machinery beyond domestic/light commercial scale
- Unboxed loose liquids or paints that could spill

Our Step-by-Step Removals Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
You contact us by phone or online with basic details: current address, destination, move date and an overview of what needs to be moved. We ask a few focused questions to understand access, floors and parking. Based on this, we provide an initial guideline price and suggest the best next step.
2. Survey – Virtual or Onsite
For anything more than a very small move, we recommend a short survey. This can be done via video call or an onsite visit, depending on your preference. We assess the volume of belongings, any fragile or bulky items and access at both properties. This allows us to allocate the right team size, vehicle and time, and to confirm a fixed or clearly structured quote.
3. Packing & Preparation
We offer two approaches:
- Full packing service – we supply all materials and professionally pack every item, labelling boxes by room.
- Part or self-pack – you pack most items, and we can handle fragile or awkward pieces on the day.
We use sturdy boxes, wrapping paper and bubble wrap as needed. Mattresses, sofas and other key items are covered for protection, and we can dismantle furniture where necessary.
4. Loading & Transport
On moving day, the team arrives on time, walks through the property with you and confirms the plan. We protect floors and high-traffic areas, then load systematically, ensuring heavy items are secured and fragile boxes are positioned appropriately. Your belongings are transported in our vehicles under goods in transit insurance, using straps and blankets to prevent movement.
5. Unloading & Placement
At your new property, we unload methodically, placing items in the rooms you specify. Furniture is reassembled as agreed, and we position heavier pieces where you want them so you do not need to move them later. We take away our protective materials and leave you with a property that is ready to start living or working in.
Transparent Pricing for Removals in West Hampstead
We price moves fairly and clearly, based on:
- Volume of items and number of rooms
- Access and floors at both addresses
- Distance between properties
- Level of packing service required
- Any special items (pianos, safes, large wardrobes, etc.)
Smaller or straightforward moves may be priced on an hourly basis. Larger or more complex moves are usually quoted as a fixed price so you know exactly what to budget for. We explain what is included upfront and highlight any potential extras, so there are no surprises later on.
Why Use a Professional Removal Company Instead of DIY
Hiring a professional removals team offers several advantages over doing it yourself or using a casual, unregulated van service:
- Trained staff who know how to lift safely and protect furniture
- Appropriate equipment – trolleys, straps, blankets and tools
- Fully insured cover for your goods and for public liability
- Realistic timings and fewer risks of delays or last-minute cancellations
- Better protection for your property – walls, floors and doorways
While DIY moves may seem cheaper on paper, they often involve multiple trips, damaged items, strained backs and extra time off work. A structured, professional move keeps stress and risk to a minimum.
Insurance and Professional Standards
We take our responsibilities seriously and operate to clear professional standards:
- Goods in transit insurance – covers your belongings while they are being moved in our vehicles, subject to terms.
- Public liability cover – protection in the unlikely event of damage to third-party property or injury during the move.
- Trained moving teams – staff are briefed, supervised and experienced with a wide range of move types.
We are always happy to explain our cover levels and terms, and to answer any specific questions about higher-value items before you book.
Care, Protection and Sustainability
Our approach is to move your belongings as if they were our own. That means:
- Using mattress covers, sofa covers and protective blankets
- Wrapping fragile items carefully and marking boxes clearly
- Planning the loading order to minimise movement in transit
We also work to reduce waste and environmental impact where possible by:
- Reusing and recycling packing materials where appropriate
- Offering rental crates for some moves instead of single-use boxes
- Optimising routes to reduce unnecessary mileage
Real-World Use Cases
Moving House in West Hampstead
Typical house moves involve packing personal belongings, dismantling beds and wardrobes, moving white goods and setting everything up in the new property. We work around children, pets and work commitments to keep the day as calm as possible.
Office Relocation
For offices, we often move outside normal working hours to reduce disruption. We label desks and crates so that everything arrives in the correct area, and we liaise with your IT or facilities team to coordinate the move.
Urgent and Short-Notice Moves
Occasionally, customers need to move at short notice due to changes in completion dates, tenancy issues or personal circumstances. Where our schedule allows, we can arrange same-day or next-day removals in West Hampstead, prioritising safety and clear communication even when timings are tight.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a removal company in West Hampstead cost?
The cost depends on the size of your move, the distance involved, access at both properties and whether you need packing services. Smaller flat moves within West Hampstead may be priced on an hourly rate, while larger house or office moves are usually quoted as a fixed price after a survey. To provide an accurate figure, we will ask about the number of rooms, special items and any stairs or parking issues. Once we have this information, we give a clear, itemised quote so you know exactly what to expect.
Can you do same-day or urgent removals?
Where our schedule allows, we can accommodate same-day or short-notice removals in West Hampstead and nearby areas. Availability depends on the time of year, the day of the week and the size of your move. Smaller moves are usually easier to fit in at short notice. If you need to move urgently, contact us as early in the day as possible with full details, and we will advise honestly whether we can help and what options you have, including part moves or staged solutions if required.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. Your goods are covered by our goods in transit insurance while they are being moved in our vehicles, and we hold public liability cover for work at your property. As with any insurance, there are terms, conditions and limits, which we are happy to explain before you book. We ask that you point out any particularly high-value or fragile items during the survey so we can assess how best to protect them and confirm cover. Proper packing and honest declarations help ensure you are fully protected.
What is included in your removals service?
Our standard service includes a professional moving team, a suitable vehicle, loading, transport and unloading of your belongings to the rooms you specify. We provide basic protection such as blankets and straps, and we can dismantle and reassemble standard furniture by prior agreement. Optional extras include full or part packing services, provision of packing materials and removal of unwanted packing materials after the move. During the quotation stage, we set out clearly what is included so the service matches exactly what you need.
How is a professional removal company different from a basic man-and-van?
A casual man-and-van service may simply provide a driver and vehicle, often without formal training, insurance or proper equipment. As a professional removals company, we supply trained staff, fully insured vehicles, planned schedules and the right tools to handle furniture safely. We complete a survey where needed, confirm written quotes and allocate a team and vehicle suited to your move. This reduces the risk of damage, delays and last-minute cancellations, and provides a far more reliable and accountable service.
How far in advance should I book my removal?
Ideally, you should book as soon as you have a confirmed moving date, especially if you are moving at the end of the month, on a Friday or during school holidays when demand is higher. For most standard moves, one to three weeks’ notice works well. That said, we understand that dates can change, particularly with property chains, so we remain as flexible as possible. If your move is last-minute, still contact us – we will always check our diary and do our best to accommodate you.

- Permit and parking restrictions on residential streets.
- Access issues in period conversions and mansion blocks.
- Peak traffic times on West End Lane, Finchley Road and surrounding routes.
- Lift sizes and stairwells in popular local developments.
This local knowledge allows us to plan realistic timings, choose the right size of vehicle and avoid unnecessary delays on moving day.

We help landlords with tenant changeover removals, clearance of unwanted items and moving furniture between properties. We can coordinate directly with you or your managing agent.
Businesses
Our office and commercial removals service is ideal for small to medium-sized businesses in West Hampstead. We move desks, chairs, filing, stock and IT equipment with minimal disruption, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends by arrangement.

- Boxes of personal belongings, books, clothing and kitchenware.
- Office furniture, filing, archive boxes and general equipment.
- TVs, computers and other electronics (securely wrapped).
- Mattresses, pictures, mirrors and soft furnishings.
Items Excluded or by Prior Agreement
For safety, legal and insurance reasons, there are some items we cannot carry, or can only carry by special arrangement:
- Hazardous materials: gas cylinders, fuel, chemicals, paint thinners.
- Illegal items or anything not permitted by law.
- Live animals (including pets and livestock).
- High-value jewellery, cash or important documents (we recommend you transport these personally).
- Very heavy or specialist items such as pianos, safes or large machinery unless agreed in advance.
If you are unsure about a particular item, just ask and we will advise before move day.
Our Step-by-Step Removals Process
1. Enquiry & Quote
You contact us with your moving details: addresses, dates, property size and any special requirements. We ask a few questions to understand access and what needs moving, then provide a clear, no-obligation quote. There are no hidden extras – everything we include is listed.
2. Survey (Virtual or Onsite)
For larger moves or more complex properties, we recommend a survey. This can be done via video call or an onsite visit. The survey allows us to assess volume, access, parking and any fragile or awkward items so we can allocate the right vehicle and team size.
3. Packing & Preparation
We offer both full packing and partial packing services, or you can pack your own boxes. If you choose our packing service, our trained team will bring materials and pack systematically, labelling boxes clearly by room. Even when you pack yourself, we can provide boxes and materials on request.
4. Loading & Transport
On moving day, our team arrives at the agreed time, protects floors and bannisters where needed, and loads your belongings carefully. Items are wrapped and secured in the vehicle to minimise movement in transit. We then transport everything directly to your new address using safe, efficient routes.
5. Unloading & Placement
At your new property, we unload and place items into the rooms you specify. Furniture is positioned where you want it, and marked boxes are taken to the correct rooms. If agreed beforehand, we can reassemble standard items such as bed frames.
Transparent Pricing
We believe in straightforward pricing with no surprises. Our quotes typically take into account:
- Property size and volume of belongings.
- Distance between addresses.
- Access and parking arrangements.
- Number of movers required.
- Any additional services such as packing or furniture assembly.
We usually quote a fixed price for the agreed scope of work, so you know exactly what you will pay. Any potential additional charges (for example, if access is very different from described) are explained in advance.
Why Choose Professional Removals Over DIY
Hiring a professional removals company is not just about convenience. It also reduces risk, stress and potential damage. Our trained teams are used to moving heavy and awkward items safely, navigating tight staircases and protecting both your belongings and the property.
DIY or casual man-and-van moves often underestimate time, vehicle size and the physical strain involved. There may be no proper insurance if something is damaged. With us, you benefit from planned logistics, appropriate equipment, and fully insured transport handled by experienced movers.
Insurance and Professional Standards
We operate to clear professional standards so you have peace of mind throughout your move.
- Goods in transit insurance to cover your belongings while they are being moved in our vehicle.

Care, Protection and Sustainability
We treat every move as if we were moving our own belongings. This means:
- Using blankets, straps and covers to protect furniture and surfaces.
- Taking extra care with fragile items, mirrors and electronics.
- Planning safe lifting routes to avoid knocks and scrapes.
We are also committed to more sustainable working practices where possible. We reuse sturdy packing materials, avoid unnecessary journeys, and plan efficient routes in and around West Hampstead to reduce fuel usage.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do removals in West Hampstead cost?
The cost of a removal in West Hampstead depends mainly on the volume of belongings, access at each property, distance travelled and whether you need packing or furniture assembly. Small local moves may be priced on a smaller vehicle and team, while full-house moves are usually quoted as a fixed price. Once we know the details, we provide a clear written quote with everything included, so you can budget with confidence. There are no hidden extras for things we have already agreed in writing.
Can you do same-day or urgent removals?
Yes, subject to availability we can often arrange same-day or short-notice removals in West Hampstead. This is particularly common for smaller flat or student moves, or where dates have changed unexpectedly. The key is to contact us as early as possible, provide accurate information about what needs moving, and be flexible with timings on the day. We will let you know immediately what we can realistically offer and provide a firm price before you confirm the booking.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. We carry goods in transit insurance to cover your belongings while they are being moved in our vehicle, along with public liability cover in case of accidental damage to property or injury. This is very different from using an unregulated man-and-van, where there may be no protection at all. We are happy to explain the level of cover, any excess and exclusions, and can advise you when it may be sensible to notify your own insurer, particularly for unusually high-value items.
What is included in your removals service?
Our standard removals service includes a vehicle of suitable size, a professional moving team, loading, transport and unloading at your new address. We place items into the rooms you specify and handle normal dismantling and reassembly of agreed furniture. Optional extras include packing, provision of packing materials and furniture protection covers. We agree everything in advance, so your quote clearly shows what is and is not included, and you can choose the level of service that suits your budget and timescale.
How is a professional removals service different from a basic man-and-van?
While a basic man-and-van may be suitable for very small, low-risk moves, a professional removals service offers far more structure and protection. We carry insurance, use trained staff, plan routes and access, and bring the right equipment for safe lifting and protection. We also provide written quotes and booking confirmations, so you know exactly what to expect. This reduces the risk of damage, delays and last-minute cancellations, which can be costly and stressful when you are tied to specific move-out or completion dates.
How far in advance should I book my removal?
For most moves, booking 2–4 weeks in advance gives the best chance of securing your preferred date, especially at month-end and weekends. However, we understand that completion dates and tenancy start dates can change. If your timing is uncertain, we can provisionally hold a slot and confirm closer to the time. For smaller or local moves, we can sometimes accommodate bookings with only a few days’ notice. The sooner you contact us, the more options we can usually offer.
